Alex and the old Guard sat in the small dark room together.
The old Guard looked at Alex and said—
—"Why'd you have to go and do a stupid thing like that?"
"I didn't. I'm being framed by the other guy. But it doesn't matter, my sister's probably on her way over here right now to figure something out."
"What? I thought you were the only one who could get out of the room."
"No. She just said that so that if a situation like this were to happen, you would try to protect me."
"She's very smart your sister."
"We both are."
"Well, even if you are as smart as you think you are, I don't know how you plan to get out of this."
"We just need to find the knife and then we'll figure something out. We always do."
"Tell me, if your sister can get out of the room, then why should I protect you for? I only need one of you."
"You really think my sister will continue to work with you if something were to happen to me?"
"I guess not."
"We'll just have to wait and see what happens."
"Why do you seem so carefree about this?"
"Why should I worry about something that is out of my control? I just have to trust that God will handle it."
The old Guard scoffed and sneered.
"God, huh? Where was your God when your parents were killed?" asked the old Guard laughing.
"He was there, and he sent us one of his angels." said Alex talking about Kate.
"And what, you think that'll happen again? What makes you think you're so special?"
"I'm not special."
Then they heard a KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK on the door.
The old Guard and Alex looked over at the door.
The old Guard walked over to the door and opened it.
He saw Ana and her other roommates standing by the doorway.
He looked back at Alex and smirked.
The old Guard stepped aside so Ana, Yumi, Nina, Maja, Lauren and Irina could walk inside.
The old Guard sat down in a chair while Ana and the rest of her roommates stood around.
"So, what's going on?" asked Alex to Ana.
"Amaia's the one who's doing all this."
"That doesn't surprise me. What did she do?"
"She tricked me. She made me think that she was framing me, but all she did was make me and Irina waste our time looking for the knife in our room to keep us out of her way while she was having Daniel frame you."
