Birds exhibit a wide range of smart behaviors, including good memories, extensive communication, planning for the future, and remembering the past. Their capacity to find their way home over hundreds, even thousands of kilometres is unrivaled in the animal kingdom. This uncanny ability has seen them used for centuries to deliver messages for royalty, military leaders and other notable figures.
Judith rode her bicycle South.
She spotted the small cottage and rode her bike across the bridge toward it.
She got off her bike, set the kickstand down and knocked on the cottage door.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
The cottage door opened and the Man that her Dad questioned stood in front of her.
Judith said—
—"Hello sir, I came here before with my father, Captain Mason."
The Man looked at Judith wearing her hood and carrying a basket of supplies.
"Oh yes." said the Man remembering who she was.
"May I come in?" asked Judith.
"Of course, come in." said the Man letting Judith inside.
Judith came in carrying her basket of things and took her hood off revealing her dark black haired wig.
"Thank you.—" said Judith and removed her wig.
"—I need to stay here for a while. I don't know for how long, but I'll pay you. No questions asked." said Judith taking money out of her basket and going to hand it to him.
"No, please, it's the least I can do." said the Man turning down the money.
"Please, just make yourself comfortable." said the Man offering her a chair.
AFTER the Man's family returned that afternoon, he informed them about Judith living with them until she could figure out where to live.
Mary was thrilled that Judith was going to live with them.
