TWO MONTHS WENT BY AND THE SHIP DOCKED FOR GRADUATION DAY.
It was very early in the morning.
All of the parents were standing by the docks behind the chainlink fence.
The Guards were standing on the other side of the fence and they were holding guns.
The Captain was putting on his uniform and getting ready to go out to the deck of the ship.
Then he walked out of his room and toward the deck of the ship.
He walked across the deck and went up to the guards.
The Captain told the guards to start bringing the 18 year olds out.
The guards went toward the guys and girls buildings and went inside.
The guards walked down the hallways opening the room doors and taking out the 18 year olds.
Before the guards came to take them, Maja and Nina each gave one of their hair clips to Ana and Yumi.
Ana and Yumi put the hair clips in their hair and thanked them.
Then they all said their goodbyes when the guards opened their room doors and then Nina and Maja walked out with the guards.
Rob said his goodbyes to his roommates, wished them good luck and walked out with the guards.
The Captain lined up the graduating class and congratulated them.
Maja and Nina saw their families in the crowds together.
Rob looked out in the crowd half expecting to see his parents in the crowd, but didn't see them.
He looked over at the Captain who was talking to one of the guards.
He watched the Guard walk away toward another dock.
Then the rest of the guards started moving them off the ship onto the dock.
They moved them toward the fence and opened the gate.
Then they moved them through the gate in a single file line.
Maja and Nina started walking through the gate and saw their families waving at them.
Rob walked in the line toward the gate and was stopped by a guard.
The Guard told Rob to come with him.
Maja and Nina looked back at Rob worried about what the Guard wanted with him.
Rob looked over at Nina and then followed the Guard.
The Guard brought Rob toward another dock where he saw the Captain talking with a Man with blond hair who was not a guard.
As Rob got closer, he realized that the man that the Captain was talking with was his Father.
Rob was stunned and did not know what was going on.
The Guard brought Rob over to them and walked away.
Rob heard the Captain telling his father that it was good to see him again and then he saw them shake hands.
Then the Captain went back to the fishing ship and Rob started walking toward home with his father.
Rob knew better than to ask his father how he and the Captain knew each other.
But once he returned home, he looked through his father's things and he found a photo of his father when he was 18 years old with 4 of his friends.
Rob recognized that one of his father's friends in the photo was the Captain.
Rob looked on the back of the photo and written on the back were the names of the boys in the photo.
