Rick led Rob and Lauren west toward the ship where Clare was.
They arrived at the deck of the ship and they began going down the stairs inside the ship.
They walked down the hallway and arrived at Clare's cabin room door.
Rick knocked on the door and heard a voice from inside the room.
"Come in." said Clare.
Rick opened the door and saw the curtain in the middle of the room.
Rick, Rob and Lauren walked inside the cabin room.
Rick closed the door and went over to the curtain and pulled it back.
They all saw Clare kneeling on the floor.
Lauren saw the crucifix on the altar and the portrait of the Virgin Mary and was surprised.
A flood of memories came into her mind and she felt a bit of shame and sadness.
Then Clare looked up at Rob and Lauren cheerfully and said—
—"Have a seat. I have much to tell you."
There were two cushions on the floor in front of them and Lauren and Rob sat down on them.
Clare looked at Lauren and smiled because it was like she was looking at Kate when she was Lauren's age.
Clare shed a tear and wiped it.
Everyone was quiet and didn't speak.
Then Clare said—
—"I spoke to your Mother before she died and she told me everything.
She told me the reason that she disappeared was because she wanted to protect me.
She took my place and pretended to be me.
Because she had learned from our Father before he died that 'I' was not his biological daughter.
I was the daughter of the previous leader."
Rob, Lauren, and Rick all looked shocked by this revelation.
Then Clare continued—
—"Our Father told Kate that he saved me as a baby from the nursery when the police were sent to kill me and everyone else of the leader's family.
Kate's parents lost their own baby daughter from illness the day before and when our Father learned that the police were going to kill me and the leader's family, he decided to save me.
So he switched me with his dead baby girl.
Our parents thought I'd be able to live my life without worrying that they would realize that they failed to kill me and come looking for me.
But Kate found out that the Government would eventually investigate everyone's genetic records and they would find out who I am.
