As Rob held the picture in his hand of the 5 young men, his Father Richard stepped in the doorway and said—
—"Hey, come with me, I wanna show you something. Bring the picture."
Rob followed his father down the hall and up the stairs with the picture in his hand.
His Father opened the door at the end of the hallway and they went inside an office.
The office had one square window, a clock on the wall, a small desk, a chair, a computer on a desk, a bookshelf and a CD shelf on the desk.
Richard sat down at the desk and pulled out the drawer.
He reached into the drawer and pulled out a photo album.
He flipped through the album and gestured his hand to Rob to give him the picture.
Rob handed over the picture and Richard slipped the picture into one of the empty slots of the album.
Richard closed the photo album and put it back into the drawer.
He closed the drawer and said—
—"Now that you're older, I can tell you why I sent you on that ship for 4 years. If I didn't, then you would've had to do what I did at that age. ...What all of us had to do at that age."
Rob looked at his father's heavy expression on his face and he started to really notice his father's blond hair had locks of gray in it.
Rob saw his father rub his forehead intently reminiscing about some dark experience.
"Sit down." said Richard.
Rob sat down in a chair and got a strong feeling that what his father was about to tell him was going to be a long and dark story.
