When we begin to walk back in the direction of the cells , I'm shocked when Thor suddenly halts and turns to me. He removes the chain, but leaves the collar on, clearly in an attempt to test me and see if I'll make a run for it.

I'm not falling that trick.

"So tell me more about this Loki guy. Is he crazy or something?"

"It is as my father said, he is untrustworthy. You would do well to avoid any further conversation with him".

"What exactly did he do to get himself locked down there?"

"He took the lives of many innocent mortals in his quest for power and revenge. You surely must remember what happened in New York?"

"That was him!?"

That was a suprise. I knew he'd killed people before because he told me so, but he literally tried to take over an entire planet.

"I am afraid my brother is rather complicated".

"Wait, he's your brother and you have him locked down there?"

"It is for his own good. He shows no remorse for his past actions".

"I suppose I can understand that. So are all you gods hung like horses or is that just him?"

He looks embarrassed as hell and I swear he's blushing.

"He's adopted".

"So are you telling me you're not?"

I glance down to mess with him.

"That would be none of your concern".

"Joking! I'm trying to be your friend so you'll trust me".

"Trust cannot be earned that way, Lady Krystal".

"What if I were to let you in on a little secret?"

"Go ahead, but I do not see how that would make me trust you".

"One of your guards was stupid enough to come into my cell and now I have him acting like an obedient dog. He's doing something for me right now in fact".

"Who? What is he doing for you?"

"Skurge. He's trying to help me escape by stealing a map from your father's study".

"Why are you telling me this?"

"If I want to earn your trust then I have to be completely honest with you, yes?"

"What else have you been doing?"

"Nothing. Although he thinks I'm planning on running away with him so we can live happily ever after".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once I'm back in the cell, Thor quickly leaves to go find Skurge no doubt. I really hope I've made the right decision. If I can get these gods to trust me then I could be walking out of here a free woman.
Poor Skurge is brought in by Thor shortly afterwards, looking sad because he obviously thinks I'll be upset with him.
Thor opens my cell and pushes him inside with me before closing it back up behind him.
"I am sorry, I have failed you" he cries.
"Shhh, it's okay".
"We cannot run away together now. They will keep us apart".
"Skurge, before you leave this cell I need you to do one last thing for me".
"Anything".
"FORGET ME".
Once I've said those words, his eyes look around, confused as to why he's even in here. I almost feel sorry for him when he's let out and given his orders.
"Go about your duties" Thor instructs him.
Thor gives me an approving nod and smile as he walks away, but I notice the man I now know to be Loki looks pretty confused by what just happened.
"I take it your plan clearly failed?"
"Not at all, my plan to get to Hel is still very much in motion".
"Without Skurge?"
"With your brother in his place, my dearest Loki".
He doesn't seem to like the fact that I know who he is, but he gives me some stern words of advice.
"You cannot trust my brother or my father for that matter, if that is what this is?"
"Oddly enough, they said the same thing about you".
"What else did they say?"
"That you're the one behind that attack in New York. I would've been impressed if you hadn't gone in all guns blazing like a complete idiot".
"Is that so? And what would a witch know about world domination?"
"I know that you don't kick the front door down and make a spectacle of yourself. You should sneak in through the back door, quietly and unnoticed".
"What would you have done differently?" he asks, thinking I won't have an answer.
"Can you shapeshift?"
"Indeed I can. Why?"
"Yet you didn't think to take the place of various world leaders? You could've turned the worlds countries against each other, started a war and let the mortals destroy one another".
"Why would I have done that?"
"So you could've swooped in when the world was at it's most desperate and led them to salvation, like the god you were born to be. You could've had it all, but instead you had to be the centre of attention and have all eyes on you".
"Where were you when I needed you?"
"Like a god ever would've taken a witch's advice".
"You are clearly far more than a mere witch. How old are you?"
"Don't you know it's rude to ask a lady her age?"
"You could at least tell me your name now that you know of mine".
"My name is Krystal and just for clarity, I'm two hundred and eleven years young".
"So you are not mortal? Where did you learn magic?"
"I don't exactly live a long life by choice. I was born with magic and trained by my mother, a very powerful witch".
"Where is she now? Still on Midgard?"
"I haven't seen her in a long time".
"And your father?"
"He died when I was a child" I tell him with unintentional sadness in my voice.
My father was a mortal man, simple, loving and kind, but the longer I outlived him, the more I was beginning to forget his face.
"How long have you been alone?"
"Many years".
He's clearly trying to find my weakness so he can gain my trust now that he knows I've spoken to his brother and father. Although, perhaps I could use him for his knowledge of Thor to help gain his trust?
