Within the week, we begin my training and I have no obvious magical abilities just yet, but apparently I'm physically strong so Stephen suspects that I'm not exactly mortal.

I quickly grow tired of constantly reading all of these books, but I'm still eager to learn. Especially when it comes to the fighting part.

"Hit me again" Wong instructs me while we continue our combat training.

And I do exactly that, over and over again for hours each day we practice, but Wong clearly has years of experience over me and magic at his disposal.

He somehow dodges every kick and punch I throw at him with ease.

"Why do you even need to learn how to fight anyway? If I do have magic, couldn't I just use that instead?"

"It is always wise to know how to handle yourself in hand to hand combat. Now it is time for you to stop attempting to hit me Star, and actually hit me for a change".

He gives me an open invitation while we spar together, at one point he grabs both of my wrists and pins them to my chest. I stomp on his foot as hard as I can and smash my forehead into his face, which he seems surprised by.

"You fight dirty" he laughs, wiping the blood from his nose.

"Well I don't exactly think an enemy that's willing and actively trying to hurt innocent people is going to fight clean, Wong".

"That is true".

"Are you two having fun?" Stephen appears from the doorway.

"I made Wong bleed" I snigger.

"Very good, Star. That will be all the training you need for today".

"Really? Okay, well I'm going to go take a shower before dinner".

Once I've showered the stench of sweat off of me, I head downstairs and overhear Stephen on the phone again. It's almost too tempting not to listen in.

"She's fine".

Is he actually talking about me, or am I just being paranoid and self involved.

"No, not a thing so far".

What was he talking about? Was it about me not remembering anything? I knock on the door and he looks almost worried that I was there.

"Sorry, I have to go" he tells whoever he was talking to.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you. I was just wondering if you wanted some tea?"

"Tea sounds good. I'll be there in a second".

I make the tea and wait for him when he comes in and sits across from me at the kitchen table. I couldn't stop myself thinking that he's keeping something from me.

"So who were you on the phone to?" I cut to the chase.

"Just an associate of mine, Tony Stark".

"Is he a sorcerer as well?"

"Iron Man?"

"Who?"

"He's part of a team known as The Avengers".

"And what do they do?"

"They're known as the worlds mightiest heroes".

"Are you an Avenger then?"

"No, they fight against the physical threats, like an alien invasion, whereas we fight against more mystical and unseen enemies".

"So will I be fighting these scary mystical forces with you one day?"

"Only when you're ready, Star. You may even be expected work with the Avengers someday".

"I wonder what my superhero name would be? Roof Smash Woman or Memory Loss Lady?"

"Those are both awful superhero names. How about we wait to see how powerful you are first before you think of an appropriate name?"

"Fine" I sigh.
