My magic seemed to be slowly, but surely beginning to show itself. I quickly noticed that it wasn't the same kind of magic that these sorcerers have.

"Wong, quick! You have to come see this!" I scream loudly in excitement, after weeks of practice and study it had finally started to happen.

"It's blue" he looks at my hands.

"Is that normal?" I ask him.

"Yes, that is pretty standard for a witch".

"Like an ugly old woman wearing a pointy hat and riding around on a broomstick?"

"The very same. However that description is for little children on Halloween, not reality".

"Okay, so what do I do with it now?"

"Now we will test your magic".

He leaves and quickly comes back with a flowerpot, full of daisies that had already begun to wilt. Then he places it down on the table in front of me.

"Touch them and see what happens" he instructs.

With the magic still in my hands, I delicately touch the flowers with my fingertips before every single one of flowers seems to flourish back to life in seconds.

"What does that mean?"

"It would appear that you have pure magic coursing through you. That means you are a good witch".

"Are there bad witches?"

"Unfortunately there are some witches out there who would use dark magic to increase their powers and hurt others".

"Steer clear of dark magic, check" I laugh.

"It is no joking matter, Star. Even the greatest of witches have been corrupted by it in the past, especially when their hearts have known pain and loss".

"Okay, I understand" I let him know that I get it.

I ball up the blue magic up between my hands before I close them together to make it disappear.

"So did I do good?"

"You are my top student".

"But aren't I your only student?"

"Precisely".

He seemed happy with my progress, but I hadn't had the nerve to tell either him or Stephen about my dreams yet, so I feel guilty about keeping it a secret from them.

It was always of a woman's voice, speaking to me in the dark and I couldn't make out who she was or what she was trying to tell me. At least not yet.
