I have to say, the good doctor had managed to pick out some nice clothes for me. Clearly I wasn't a fashion expert, because the dress I'd been wearing when I arrived here suggested otherwise.
Wherever it was I came from before I woke up in this place, had a weird old fashioned style of dress code.
"How do I look?" I ask Stephen now I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt made for a woman instead of his.
"You look nice. I was worried the sizes would be all wrong".
"Well you did manage to get my bra size entirely wrong, but who needs one, right?' I laugh at his embarrassment.
"Sorry. The receipts are in the bags".
"Point me in the right direction tomorrow and I'll go and take them back myself".
"Are you sure you're ready to go outside this soon?"
"Sure, why not?"
He sighs.
"Can I show you something?"
He doesn't even give me the chance to answer before he slips on a weird looking ring, holds out his hands in front of him and begins moving them around strangely.
Some kind of bright, amber coloured sparks form weird looking markings in the air in front of him, creating symbols that I don't even recognise.
Oh my god, they are sorcerers!
"So I take it Wong wasn't really lying to me when he said you were a sorcerer, huh?"
He moves his hands again and whatever that magic was completely disappears, like it was never even there.
"Yes, I am. I wasn't sure whether I should tell you or not at first".
"Well it's a little too late to worry about that now. So that really means you protect the entire world?"
"We do and there are many others like us out there. I'm telling you all this for a reason, Star".
"And why's that?"
"You have magical abilities".
Is he kidding? Although I suppose it might actually explain how I somehow survived the fall?
"Is that how I ended up here?"
"It's a possibility".
"Wait, if you're a sorcerer then can you help me get my memories back?"
"No, that isn't possibly I'm afraid".
"Oh. Well what do I do with my magic?"
"I can teach you how to use it safely so Wong and I can both train you. There's also thousands of books here that you can learn from".
"Why? Why would you help me?"
"You have the potential to do something amazing with your power and help people that really need it. If that's something you want then we'll gladly help you".
"How do you even know I have magic? I don't exactly feel magical".
"Because no normal person would've recovered from that fall this quickly".
