I wake up on the couch, realising that me and Steve had both fallen asleep here last night watching TV because he's still got me in a bear hug.

I manage to sneak away without disturbing him to go use the bathroom and brush my teeth before I start making breakfast for us.

"Morning" I say once I see him getting up.

"Morning" he yawns.

"I really hope you like pancakes because I'm not very good at making anything else" I laugh.

"How do you even get food all the way out here?"

"It was already stocked up when I arrived and food gets delivered here twice a week. Stark must pay them a damn fortune to drive this far out".

"I've got two hours until I have to go. What do you feel like doing?"

"I'd say go for a run, but I don't really feel like it this morning".

"Why not?"

"I guess it's because I know that in a couple of hours I'll be all alone again".

"Hey, don't think like that. I'll come back as soon as I can and next time I'll stay a lot longer, I promise".

He reaches over the breakfast counter and takes both my hands.

"I've just decided what I want us to do together before you go".

"And what's that?"

"I'm going for a swim in the lake, and you're going to join me".

"Sorry, but I didn't think to pack a bathing suit",

"Who needs one?"

I head upstairs and put my bikini on before heading outside and Steve soon follows behind, but he's still fully dressed.

"It looks pretty cold".

It's definitely cold enough to wake me up.

"That's because it is, Rogers. Now hurry up and get your butt in here" I splash some water at him before I swim out a little further.

"Fine, but don't look. Okay?"

I turn around while he takes his clothes off and I know it's safe to turn back after I hear him lowering himself into the water.

"Well, well, well, Mr Rogers. I'm surprised at you! Skinny dipping?"

"There's a first time for everything" he says with a shaky voice while his body adjusts to the cold.

"Come here" I swim towards him.

"What are you doing?"

I rest my hands on his chest and use my magic to warm him up so he doesn't freeze to death.

"You're full of surprises".

"I wouldn't want you freezing up again. The Avengers wouldn't be too happy about that".

"I guess not".

"I feel kind of bad for making you swim out here with nothing on though" I laugh.

"Not my idea of a good time to be honest, but I can at least cross this off my bucket list".

"What else is on there?"

"There has to be something after the fight's over. I'd like the whole house with a white picket fence and kids kind of a life. What about you?"

"Yet to be determined. I know I'm over two hundred years old, so I'm definitely not mortal. I seem to have a lot longer to make those kinds of decisions".

"I suppose you do" he looks a little disappointed.

"Sorry to say, but if you're looking for a woman to grow old with then I'll be a bit of a let down in that department".

"You're apologising for not being able to grow old at the same time as me?"

"Unless you want a much younger looking wife when you're an old man? In which case, you're welcome".

He moves a strand of hair away and tucks it behind my ear, and the way he looks at me makes me panic.

"We'd better head back inside. You have to pack, right?"

I have no idea why, but I start swimming back.

We both head back inside and go to our rooms to shower. Once I've put a dress on, I head to his room to make sure that he's got everything before he leaves.

Just when I'm about to knock, I see him through the gap in the door, wearing nothing but his black underwear.

Until Steve, I'd never seen a man this bare before, or at least not in this new chapter of my life. He's so perfect looking to the point that he's almost too perfect.

I can't even deny to myself that my thoughts about him are full of lust.

"Steve?"

I finally knock on the door and walk in there, desperately trying to look like I haven't just been watching him for the past thirty seconds.

"Whats wrong?"

He suddenly seems embarrassed now that he knows I've seen him like this.

"Sorry. I was just coming to make sure you've got everything you came with".

"I think so. I'm just about to finish getting dressed then I'll see you downstairs".

"Listen, I'm sorry if I freaked out a little earlier. I haven't kissed anyone before, not that I can remember anyway, and I was worried I'd be terrible at it".

"It's okay. I told you before that you shouldn't rush into anything you aren't ready for".

"I think I am".

Moving closer to him, I wait for a second and I'm relieved when he finishes closing the gap between us.

He leans in so close that I can hear his heart beating, but just as he's about to give me my first kiss his phone suddenly starts ringing.

"Sorry, but I have to get this" his face is etched with disappointment while he walks over to grab his phone.

"It's okay" I lie, knowing full well that I really wanted him to ignore it.

"When?" he asks whoever's on the other end of the phone.

He turns back around and looks at me with the phone still held to his ear.

"Tell Strange to open a portal in five minutes" he sighs before ending the call.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm really sorry, but I have to go now".

He quickly gets dressed and heads outside, not even giving me an explanation as to why he's got to leave so suddenly.

"I'll see you again soon" he smiles weakly before he steps through the portal.

"Bye, Steve".
