I'm woken up the following morning by the sound of the guards armour clattering as they seem to be constantly walking past the cells. As soon as I sit up I can see that they're bringing in more prisoners, a lot more prisoners in fact.

"What's going on?" I ask Loki.

"I overheard the guards say that they were sent back from Hel by the witch, but all surrendered without a fight".

"This is really bad" I say to myself once I realise the gravity of the situation.

"What troubles you?" Loki asks with a tired voice as he rises from his own bed.

"I'm down here and now she knows that now".

"You believe she instructed them to surrender?"

"Yes, so they would all be inside the palace where she knows I would be. She's sent in a small army to kill me before I can get to her".

"Then you must get word to my father so that he can get you to safety".

"When they break out they'll search the entire palace to find me and kill everyone they come across. I can't tell him without risking everyone else".

He gives me a knowing look when he watches me sat deep in thought.

"You want to fight them?" he realises.

"Sure, why not?"

"You are absolutely mad!"

"Don't you want to help? It might be fun to vent your inner murderous urges" I laugh.

"I will only assist you if you almost get yourself killed again" he sighs, knowing there's a good chance I'll do something reckless.

"I will take that offer, Mr Mischief".

Within the hour, all the other cells are now fully occupied with multiple men and creatures whose eyes all seem to be zoned in on me. She's watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity.

"Bathing time!" we hear a guard yell from the distance because they're no longer allowed near my cell.

Fortunately, Loki still has an arrangement with the servants that come to collect me so we're taken away to the baths together.

Once we're alone, he uses the device he stole to unlock both our collars, but creates an illusion to make it appear as if we still have them on incase we get caught.

When we're brought back to the cells it's time to put our plan into action.

"LEAVE AND FORGET".

All of the guards and servants quickly exit the dungeons, leaving only myself and Loki down here alone with the other prisoners.

"Where are you mummy dearest? Come out, come out wherever you are" I dare her to reveal her presence.

"Little dove" one of the men creepily talks on her behalf with a blank expression on his face.

"Is that her?" Loki whispers to me.

"And who are you, handsome? Not my daughters newest love interest I hope?"

"He's not my type, mother. Also he's kind of an asshole".

"Charmed, I'm sure" Loki states, seemingly unamused.

"Oh and I'm really sorry, but you aren't going to be receiving an invitation to my upcoming wedding".

"A wedding? What poor soul did you trick into marrying you without love, daughter?"

That seems to have taken her attention away from Loki, at least for now.

"There was a time when I was excited to tell you all about my wedding day, but not anymore I'm afraid".

"So what is the plan, little dove? The guards will soon return and my soldiers will break free. Then you'll all die, including the handsome man that's so clearly enamoured with you".

"No, he isn't" I deny such an accusation.

"You're in love with him as well, aren't you? I can see it in your eyes, but you're too scared to give into it. You don't want to see another man you love die".

"Shut up!"

"Do not let her get under your skin, Krystal. That is exactly what she wants" Loki tries to calm me down.

"Loki, unlock all the cells" I command as I storm angrily back towards my own cell with him following close behind.

"What? That was not part of the plan!"

"I said do it!"

"She's going to get you killed" my mother tells Loki.

"No, mother. I simply wish to show you what's in store for you once I reach Hel".

Standing by my side, Loki's hand shakes while he presses various buttons on the device. All of the magical barriers are disarmed and the prisoners come flooding out towards us like a tsunami.

"This was a terrible idea" I hear Loki utter.

"Cover your ears, Loki".

When he does, I take a deep breath as time seems to slow down for a moment.

"DIE!"

Almost instantly, the life disappears from their eyes and all of them fall down to the ground one by one. Loki swiftly catches me in his arms when I fall backwards, having completely drained myself.

"You killed them all?" he seems shocked and confused.

"Put the device in one of their hands so it looks like they stole it. Then you have to go get the collars".

Once he's got them, he puts his own back on and leaves mine off to explain the situation when suddenly the guards come bursting back into the dungeons with Odin leading them.

"Loki, what happened here?" he asks his son.
