It's official.

I absolutely love this dress.

I'm honestly a little surprised that Blade knows exactly how much I adore mini dresses, especially ones in black and red.

The black satin clings to every curve of my body, accentuating my shape while the cowl neck and ruched side detailing add a touch of elegance. I feel both sophisticated and indulgent, like a vision that belongs in a magazine. Judging by the look and feel of it, Blade must have spent a small fortune on this dress.

I brush my blonde hair off my shoulders and slip into the silver heels that came with it, the click of them against the floor making me feel taller and more poised. Finally, I swipe on a darker shade of red lipstick, letting the bold color complete the transformation.

Satisfied with my appearance, I sling my black purse over my shoulder and stride out of the room, careful not to trip on the stairs in my heels. I come to a halt in front of Blade, who is dressed in a sharp black tuxedo. His back is to me as he whispers rapidly on the phone in Italian.

He mutters a few curses under his breath before hanging up and sliding the phone into his pocket. I hold my breath, heart tightening, as he slowly turns to face me.

Blade inhales sharply, his Adam's apple rising and falling, and his stormy grey eyes lock onto me. Time seems to pause as his gaze traces over my slightly exposed figure, and I feel my knees weaken under the intensity of his stare.

"Wow." Is all he can mutter as he licks his lips and walk towards me.

The woodsy scent of his cologne, rich with sandalwood, pine, and cedar, drifts through the air around us, making me shiver without meaning to as he slides an arm around my waist, his grip firm and possessive.

Blade's fingers brush lightly against my cheek as he tucks a stray strand of hair behind my ear, the tendrils lingering softly against my skin.

Tightening his hold, he leans closer and whispers, "You're so fucking beautiful." My heart hammers violently in my chest, each beat echoing loudly in my ears. "It's going to be hard to keep my hands to myself."

Heat floods my cheeks at his words. Just as he begins to pull me closer to his hard chest, the driver enters, wearing an embarrassed look that freezes the moment between us.

"Um, sir, the car is ready." The driver mutters, his eyes fixed firmly on the tiled floor as if avoiding the tension in the room could make it disappear.

Blade clears his throat, a sharp sound meant to slice through the awkward silence while I smooth the folds of my dress, trying to calm the storm of restless energy coursing through me.

"Okay." Blade curtly says. He gestures for me to follow the driver, falling into step behind me as we move toward the sleek limo waiting in the garage.

A man in a perfectly tailored black suit stands at the ready. Dark sunglasses mask his eyes, an earpiece tucked neatly into his ear, and he opens the backseat door for me

"Thank you," I mumble, a faint smile tugging at my lips, but he only nods, his expression stiff, as another bodyguard opens the door for Blade.

They slide into the front seat beside the driver, who pulls out of the garage and through the massive gate leading out of Blade's mansion.

Blade lifts the partition between the driver's area and the passenger compartment, giving us a bit of privacy.

He pulls his phone from his pocket and starts typing, a deep frown creasing his face.
