It had been a few years since they got together. Vi moved in from her shabby apartment to Caitlyns apartment which was bigger than her old home! "Perks of being a sheriff I guess" she muttered the day she walked in.
The days flew by fast and they fell into a pattern. Caitlyn wakes up, and for 5 minutes struggles to wake up vi, showers/ changes, then makes breakfast as vi showers and changes and getting breakfast when it was done then both go to work.
Most nights Vi gets a odd nightmare and Caitlin stays with her while she wakes up and struggles. But they find a pattern.
Tonight was one of those nights. It was late in the night,around 2 in the morning, when whimpers and shuffling wakes Cautlyn up. She sits up and looks to her side to find the view of Vi completely curled up struggling with what seems like a bad nightmare. Reaching over she gently rubs Vi's back muttering softly to try and bring Vi awake. After a few minutes it seems to work when she jolts awake with a gasp. Caitlyn gently hugs her and instead of pulling away like usual Vi leans into the hug. Caitlyn moves so they are both laying down and smiles at Vi. "You okay?" She gets nothing said instead Vi moves her so Caitlyn is laying next to her and snuggles into her. Caitlyn chuckles and hugs her back tightly. "Your okay Vi nothing will hurt you baby."
both soon fell asleep holding each other tightly. No nightmares came to either that night.
