Worry About the Little things Pt.2

Vi was watching the baby playing with the hanging toys, cooing and gurgling softly. 9 months of feeling like crap almost everyday, was worth it in Vi's eyes. the moment she was able to hold her daughter, the little ones head covered in fuzzy dark blue hair, and crying like a madman, until Vi gently held her close. the babys eyes were the same eye color as Vi, a trait both Vi and Caitlyn adored. Caitlyn smiled gently rubbing Vis arm with one hand and gently rubbing the babys back with her other. Vi jumped in surprise as a hand splayed against her back, breaking through the memory, though she relaxed as Caitlyn came into her view. Vi smiled gently and took the offered coffee, turning her eyes back to the baby, feeling Caitlyn lead against her arm, watching the little one.

"can you believe it.." Vi whispered softly, gaining a confused look from caitlyn. "What?" "that shes finally here...it still feels like a dream.." Caitlyn chuckled softly, As Vi gently reached forward and picked up the baby, smiling as she squealed at Vi. "hello little oneeee.. how are you today!" Vi giggled softly as the baby squeals and coos at her, before grabbing a rattle and playing with the baby. Caitlyn watched them with a quiet smile. She could remember the days that Vi broke down convinced that she wouldn't be a good mom. how careful Vi always was on raids and missions, unil she was put on deskwork for the rest of her term. Vi, the on always looking for fights, had Strayed away from them the entire time, terrified that one hit would hurt the little one. 

the knock at the door had Vi looking up as Caitlyn got up to answer. "whos that?" Caitlyn shook her head. "did you already forget? your sister and my parents are coming over to meet her remember?" Vi scrunched her face trying to think back before her face hit a look of recognition "OOOOOO right!" Vi got up carefully, keeping the baby close to her chest as she walked over to the door as Caitlyn opened it. a flash of Blue was the only warning before her sister, gently, grabbed her into a hug. "Hiya Fathands! oh my goodness hello little one!" Vi laughed as her sister immediately honed in on the baby, as Caitlyn greeted her parents and Ekko. "Ah good morning Caitlyn, sorry about coming so early." Cassandra said, removing her coat and shoes before walking fully in. "its no worries mom, dad." "hey! little man!" Vi's callas Ekko walked over, hugging the brawler as well, her arms free. "look how tiny she issssss" Jinx said softly, holding the baby carefully. Ekko just chuckled and nodded as Vi slipped past them to say hello to Caitlyn's parents. 

Everyone was settled on the couches, Cassandra having Peony in her lap as they all talked. "Bloblok and Shoola finally agreed to progress the studies. with Vi showing it could be successful theirs more acceptance." Cassandra said softly, letting peony suckle on her fingers as she spoke. "im surprised Pretty boy managed to actually get it to work too." "such little faith Vi." Vi went to say something, before Peony decided to whimper. "oop either hungry or diaper change." Vi chuckled and got up, gently taking the baby from cassandra and heading to  the Nursery to calm the baby. "How are you both dealing with the baby?" Jinx said, turning to Caitlyn. "its going well.. we hardly get sleep but thats to be expected." Cassandra nodded. "you weren't any better when you were a child Cait, you kept us up every night." "ugh noooo mom no embarrassing stories right now!"

after seeing everyone out, with the promise to join her parents for dinner a few days later. Caitlyn put all the cups in the kitchen before heading to the nursery, only to find it empty. confused Caitlyn headed to the master, and pushed the door opened quietly before smiling. Peony was on her back tucked close to Vi's chest who was curled around her protectivly. both were asleep, and not wanting to wake them, caitlyn climbed carefully on the other side of Peony and smiled gently as Vi mumbled softly and moved closer. "good night my girls.." Caitlyn whispered before following them into the relam of sleep.
