"After all it's her blood in your veins." The words echoed through VI's ears long after Caitlyn had left, long after the tears had finally stopped. She stayed in the fetal position, since for once she couldn't find it in herself to look or act tough. Not like anyone would see her anyway, locked in the sewers with the long ladder ahead of her and rocks blocking the path behind her, she was safe to let her betrayal, hurt, and fear out without anyone seeing it as a weakness. She had no idea what time it was, just knew that she's been down there long enough for her legs and feet to start hurting. Finally pushing herself up, she took a moment to compose herself before starting the long climb up to the surface.

"Everyone I have ever loved had changed...Promise me... You won't change.." As soon as she was out of that sewer she set off deeper into the Undercity. She couldn't return to Piltover , to Cait, when Caitlyn made it clear she no longer wanted her. And as much as she wanted to go back down to the slumps there was no place for her, not after she had to destroy her own home to get away from Silco. So she was just wandering the streets looking for work or a possible place to stay. Faint cheers caught her attention and she followed them to a run down building, people swarming in and out, fighters and not, and she could hear an announcer in the midst of the screams.

Maybe she could put her brawling to use.

"I thought you were different, but your the same as all of them." Vi kept seeing Caitlyn everywhere. In the crowd during fights, random girls dancing on the floor, even just dark corners of her shabby apartment. To avoid seeing her, Vi drank until she passed out, wake up and do it all over again, not that it worked much. She would stumble to her room in self loathing, her anger and frustration pushing away the one person who still stood by her side. Collapsing into the rickety bed she fell asleep the last thought in her head was of dark blue hair and striking blue eyes.

"Oil and water, that's all we will ever be."  Vi didn't expect the punch to the face, nor for it to hurt as much as it did, but here she was. She looked up into cold blue eyes, still filled with the same pain and fear as she looked in the past, and felt her heart skip. As much as she tried to deny it. "What are you doing here?" She watched Caitlyn's face scrunch before it fell emotionless again. "To try to find a weapon. Why are you here?" Vi fought with her head wondering if it was a good idea to tell Caitlyn, since she was working with a warlord. "Trying to help.... My dad." She watched Caitlyn pause in surprise, trying to process the info, before getting off Vi carefully and peaking around the corner as she heard footsteps. "You shouldn't be here Vi." "Neither should you. Get tierd of the posh life in Piltover? Or need the trenchers to suffer more?" Vi spat back immediately, reminding herself that Caitlyn had changed, and she won't be afraid to hurt her again, if the attack was any proof.

She watched Caitlyn's face morph to concern and apologetic as she turned her gaze back to Vi. "Why do you think I would do that?" "Oh I don't know, because your hell bent on finding my sis- finding Jinx. And in your words.. 'all the trenchers are the same' "now that's not fai-" "no. Not fair is the years of torment us trenchers have to suffer through, not fair is getting thrown in prison for years for absolutely nothing.  Not fair is attacking me after I was just trying to save your soul over shooting a kid!" "I am an amazing shot! I wouldn't have missed it!" "Yea? But were you prepared for the broken wails of a child whose guardian you shot?!" Caitlyn snapped her mouth shut at that, glancing away from Vi. "That's what I thought. Look. We- you will get vengeance for your mom, but you have to be prepared for the destruction it will cause."

Caitlyn paused and turned fully to face Vi, noting her change, Not only physical but emotional. She was no longer the open book she was once Caitlyn got through her defenses. She was now she was back in the prison, closed off, backed into a corner, scared. Which Caitlyn couldn't blame her, not after Caitlyn broke her trust by hitting her with the guns butt. She carefully reached out, her heart clenching at the unconscious flinch Vi gave before Caitlyn gently rested her hand on her cheek. "I'm sorry Vi, I really am. I was just so angry, still hurting, and sad that ir turned into me hurting you... even after I promised I wouldn't.." she watched Vi's face morph into many experessions, before landing on a sad half smile.

"It's alright cupcake... not like it didn't happen before.." Caitlyn reached over and brought the rough brawler into a hug, which Vi was hesitant to return. Caitlyn smiled softly as Vi nuzzled into her shoulder, hiding her face slightly. It was a start to the long journey of fixing what they had, but it was a good start.
