~ Zarkon ~

When Gatrea started fussing more you knew something was going on. Zarkon had a better idea of what and thankfully he had prepared for it. Gatrea was teething, and boy was she teething. She refused to drink any milk and she was dealing with sore gums, so you decided to refrigerate some teething rings. Zarkon was currently sitting on the nursery floor with Gatrea who was chewing on one of the corners of his cape, drooling at the same time.

"How's Gatrea doing?" You asked your husband as you walked into the nursery while holding a cool teething ring.

"She's drooling on my cape; please tell me that you have a teething ring ready." Zarkon said with desperation, looking up at you.

"You're in luck, I do. Here you go." You told Zarkon, handing him the chilled teething ring.

"Come on Gatrea, chew on this. I need my cape back." Zarkon baby-talked as he offered Gatrea the teething ring.

Gatrea looked up from chewing on her father's cape only to see him holding an odd looking purple ring. The ring looked like it would be nice to chew on, so she dropped the soaked piece of cloth so that she could take the teething ring. She babbled happily as she put it in her mouth, the cool, hard rubber ring felt good against her gums.

"I think that she likes it." Zarkon commented as he watched Gatrea happily chew on the teething ring.

"I think so too." You agreed with him, making a mental note to put more teething rings in the refrigerator.

Zarkon lifted up the part of his cape that Gatrea was chewing on, cringing when he saw that it was soaked with drool. He loved his and your daughter, but what she did was disgusting. His cape would definitely need to be washed later; after all, the Emperor of the Galra couldn't go out with drool on the corner of his cape.

~ Alfor ~

"Princess, are you sure this is safe? Lotarius is still very young." Alfor said as he followed you around the kitchen.

"Yes, Alfor, I'm sure. He is half human, after all. So stop worrying." You reassured your husband as you poured a little juice that kind of tasted like apple juice into a small bowl of shaved ice.

When Lotarius started teething he became very cranky, so today you decided to give him some flavored shaved ice to help soothe the pain of his teeth breaking through his gums. Alfor was worried that Lotarius was too young for shaved ice, but you had to reassure your husband that he wasn't. When it actually came to feeding Lotarius the flavored shaved ice, his mood improved as soon as the cool, smooth shaved ice touched his gums.

"See, he likes it." You said as you looked at your husband.

"So he does." Alfor said quietly, obviously dumbfounded.

You smiled as you turned your attention back to your son and scooped up some more ice with the spoon, lifting it up and offering it. Lotarius opened his mouth wide and leaned forwards a little, closing it around the spoon as it was close enough. He was drooling just a little, and some of it was probably water, but thankfully he was wearing a bib.

"May I try?" Alfor asked you curiously, wanting to feed his and your son.

"Sure, go ahead." You answered, stepping to the side and giving Alfor the bowl and spoon.

Alfor smiled with excitement as he took the bowl of shaved ice and the spoon from you. He stood in front of the high chair and did exactly what you were doing. Lotarius happily accepted the flavored shaved ice that his father was offering him. You decided to sit in a nearby chair, thankful to finally rest your legs and feet.
