Trigger Warning!!
You woke up in the medjack hut, overhearing the last of Gally's thought, "Why would y/n do that? God, when they wake up-"
"Good to see you too, Gally." You mumbled groggily. Gally was at your side in a second.
"What happened?" You asked as Gally helped you sit up.
Clint and Jeff, the medjacks, exchanged glances.
"You passed out building the new meeting hall." Clint offered. You groaned and brought a hand to your forehead.
"What happened, did I get dehydrated?"
Clint tried to speak, but Gally interrupted.
"They said you haven't eaten in days. Is that true? Y/n that is so unsafe and-"
"Ok, Gally." Jeff touched his arm lightly, but Gally, oblivious to the ashen look on your face, continued, "Why on earth haven't you eaten? That's completely-"
"Enough, Gally!"
"Shut up, Jeff, I'm trying to-"
"Gally, would you shut up?! Look at y/n!"
He did, only to see you pull the covers of the cot you were lying on over your head, too tired to fight with him.
"Oh... I'm... I'm sorry, y/n, I was just worried about you."
He put a hand on your shoulder gently, sitting on the side of the bed.
"Forgive me...?"
You sighed under the covers but didn't reply.
"Y/n, would you like to tell us why you haven't been eating?"
You heard Jeff's voice from outside your blanket fortress.
"No, not really." You mumbled, much too quietly for the boys to hear.
"What?"
"I said, no, not really." You repeated, pulling the covers off your head for them to hear.
"Well, we have some food here-"
"No!"
"Y/n..."
"Slim it, Gally. Why can't you all just leave me alone?!" You pulled the blankets back over your head, feeling Gally growing angrier.
"Y/n, you have to eat."
"Is that an order, Captain?" You asked from under the covers.
"Yes! I'm ordering you to-" Gally bristled.
That did it. You were done with this whole affair. You yanked the covers off your head, stood up, and walked, a little shakily, past Gally to where Jeff was holding a plate of scrambled eggs. Taking a large fistful, you shoved it in your face, chewed twice, and spat the whole mess on the ground, maintaining eye contact with Gally the entire time.
"Aye, aye, Captain."
Gally stood, steaming mad, and faced you, pointing his angry finger in your face.
"See here, y/n, I'm trying to help you-"
"Help me?! Oh, my giddy aunt, the great Captain Gally, helping me!? I'm so honored." You bowed, sarcasm dripping from your voice like venom.
"Slim it, shank! You have to eat so you can build, or you'll die, do you hear that?!"
"Calm down, I won't die. I just want to lose weight, alright? You should be in favor of that. I'll be healthier."
"How is passing out during the day healthy in any regard?! And lose what weight, you're already thin as a twig!"
"I am not, I'm fat."
"You are not!"
"Am too!"
"Are not!"
"Um... Gally?" Jeff tried to intervene, but you and Gally spoke together.
"Slim it, Jeff!"
Jeff returned to the corner of the room.
"I just want to lose weight, alright. Once I do, I'll start eating again."
"Look," Gally took a deep breath, and you could just see him trying to get himself under control, "If you really want to be healthier, I'll help you build more muscle. We can work out together in the mornings or something. But I can't have my most beautiful builder wasting away and fainting on duty. Alright?"
"... You think I'm the most beautiful?"
Gally flushed twelve shades of red, sputtered, then exclaimed, "Ah, slim it," before strutting out of the room.
You smiled to yourself as he called over his shoulder, "And if I see you skipping any more meals, you'll pay for it!"
"Aye, aye, Captain!" You yelled back, and you couldn't wipe the smile off your face for the rest of the day.
