Newt had seen a lot in his time as the second-in-command in the Glade, but today was different. The evening had started like any other, with the usual tasks being completed and conversations flowing around the campfire. But then, he noticed something unusual. You had been quiet for most of the day, and now you seemed lost in thought, your eyes distant and sad.

He watched as you drifted away from the group, retreating to a quiet spot by the edge of the Glade. Newt's concern grew as he saw you sitting alone, staring at the ground with an expression that spoke of deep sadness and contemplation. He approached cautiously, not wanting to startle you.

"Y/n?" Newt's voice was gentle, carrying a tone of concern. "Is everything alright?"You looked up, blinking as if waking from a dream. Your eyes were glossy, and there was a certain melancholy in your gaze. "It's just... memories," you said quietly, your voice trembling slightly. "I was thinking about home. About my family and everything we left behind."

Newt sat down beside you, his expression softening as he took in your distressed state. He had never seen you so vulnerable, and it made his heart ache.

"Tell me about it," he said, his voice calm and soothing. "You don't have to keep it all inside. It's okay to talk about it."

You took a deep breath, trying to hold back tears as you began to share your memories. You talked about your family, the place you used to call home, and the little things you missed—the sound of laughter, the smell of your favorite meals, the comfort of your old bed. Each word seemed to weigh heavily on you, as if the memories were both a comfort and a burden.

Newt listened intently, his heart going out to you with each passing moment. He reached out and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, offering a small, supportive smile. "I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. It's completely normal to miss home and your family. It's a big part of who you are."

You nodded, wiping a tear from your cheek. "I know. It just feels like a part of me is missing, like I'm stuck between two worlds."

Newt sighed softly, thinking about how hard it must be to grapple with such intense emotions while living in the unfamiliar and often harsh environment of the Glade. "I can't imagine how tough that must be. But you're not alone here. We all have our struggles, but we support each other."

He pulled you into a gentle hug, holding you close in a comforting embrace. "If there's anything I've learned here, it's that even when we're far from everything we know and love, we can still find a sense of home with the people around us."

You leaned into the hug, feeling the warmth and reassurance of his presence. "Thank you, Newt. It really helps to talk about it."

"No need to thank me," he said softly. "We're all in this together. And if you ever need to talk or just need someone to be here with you, I'm always around."

The two of you sat there in silence for a while, the comforting quiet of the Glade enveloping you. Newt's presence was a reminder that even in the midst of everything you'd lost, there were still connections and support to be found.

Eventually, you looked up at Newt with a small, grateful smile. "I appreciate it, Newt. Really."

He smiled back, giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Anytime, y/n. Anytime."
