The night in the Glade was alive with the sounds of laughter and chatter as the boys celebrated another successful day of navigating the maze. The fire crackled brightly, casting a warm glow over the group as they passed around Gally's latest batch of "special" drink.

You had joined in the festivities, enjoying the sense of camaraderie and the rare chance to let loose.

As the night wore on, you found yourself feeling more and more lightheaded, the alcohol working its way through your system. You laughed at every joke, even the ones that weren't particularly funny, and you felt a warm, fuzzy feeling settle over you. Eventually, you stumbled away from the fire, looking for someone specific.

"Newt!" you called out, your voice a little louder than you intended. You spotted him sitting on a log near the edge of the clearing, talking with Minho.

Newt turned at the sound of your voice, his eyes widening slightly as he took in your wobbly steps and flushed cheeks. "Hey, there you are," he said, getting up to meet you halfway.

"You alright, love?"

You giggled, feeling a rush of affection for him. "I'm better now that I've found you," you said, throwing your arms around his neck and leaning heavily against him.

Newt chuckled, though you could see the concern in his eyes. "Looks like someone's had a bit too much to drink," he remarked, wrapping his arms around you to steady you.

"Mmm, maybe," you admitted, snuggling closer to him. "But I'm fine because you're here."He smiled, guiding you over to the log where he had been sitting. "Come on, let's sit down for a bit."

You plopped down next to him, immediately resting your head on his shoulder. "You're the best, Newt," you mumbled, your words slurring slightly. "Did you know that?"

Newt's smile softened, and he brushed a strand of hair away from your face. "I'm glad you think so," he said gently. "But you really should take it easy on the drinks next time, yeah?"

You pouted, looking up at him with wide, adoring eyes. "But I like feeling like this... happy and warm. And you're so nice to cuddle with."

He laughed softly, unable to hide his amusement. "Well, I'm glad you're happy, but I don't want you to feel sick later."

"I won't," you insisted, though your eyelids were already starting to droop. "Promise."

Newt sighed, wrapping an arm around your shoulders to keep you steady. "Alright, love. Just rest here for a bit, okay? I'll make sure you're alright."

You nodded, a contented smile spreading across your face as you closed your eyes. "Thanks, Newt. You're my favorite."

He watched you for a moment, his expression softening as he saw how relaxed and peaceful you looked. "And you're mine," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head.

The night continued on around you, but in that moment, it felt like it was just the two of you. Newt kept a close eye on you, making sure you stayed comfortable and safe as you dozed off against his shoulder. He knew you'd probably have a headache in the morning, but for now, he was content to be there for you, holding you close and keeping you safe.

As the fire began to die down and the other Gladers started to drift off to their beds, Newt carefully shifted you in his arms, standing up and lifting you with him. "Let's get you to bed, love," he murmured, carrying you gently towards your hut.

You stirred slightly, mumbling something incoherent, but didn't wake up fully. Newt smiled, holding you a little tighter as he made his way through the Glade. He knew you'd probably feel embarrassed about all this in the morning, but he didn't mind. He was just glad he could be there for you, to take care of you when you needed it.

As he laid you down on your bed and pulled the blanket over you, you reached out and grabbed his hand, holding on tightly. "Stay?" you whispered, your eyes barely open.

Newt nodded, sitting down next to you and taking your hand in his. "I'm not going anywhere," he promised.

You smiled, squeezing his hand before finally drifting off to sleep. Newt watched you for a moment longer, making sure you were settled before finally allowing himself to relax. No matter what challenges the maze threw at them, he knew he'd always be there for you, just as you'd always be there for him.
