TW for weight loss, some self-harm as in working out too much, eating disorder, and body dysmorphia

Newt had noticed your increased focus on working out over the past few weeks. You'd been pushing yourself harder than ever, spending long hours in the training area, and eating less than usual. It was clear to him that you were determined to lose weight, but he couldn't ignore the signs that something was wrong. You seemed more exhausted, and your usually vibrant demeanor had dulled.

One evening, after watching you push yourself through yet another grueling workout session, Newt decided he needed to talk to you. He found you leaning against a tree, breathing heavily, with sweat dripping down your face. You were clearly pushing your limits, but it was obvious you were struggling.

"Hey, y/n, can we talk for a minute?" Newt called out as he approached.

You looked up, surprised to see him. "Oh, hey, Newt. Sure, what's up?"

Newt's face was etched with concern as he took a seat next to you. "I've noticed you've been working out a lot lately. More than usual. I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing."

You shrugged, trying to sound casual. "I'm fine. Just trying to get in better shape, you know?"

Newt wasn't convinced. "You don't look fine. You look exhausted. And I've seen you skipping meals too. I'm worried about you."

"It's nothing, Newt. I'm just—" You started to explain, but Newt cut you off gently.

"Look, I get that you want to lose weight and be healthier. But pushing yourself this hard isn't the answer. It's actually doing more harm than good."

You opened your mouth to protest, but Newt held up a hand. "Please, just listen. I care about you. I've seen people push themselves too far before, and it doesn't end well. You're already doing great. You don't need to kill yourself to prove anything."

"I just want to be better," you said softly, your voice tinged with frustration. "I want to feel like I'm doing enough."

Newt's eyes softened as he placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. "You're already enough, y/n. You don't need to push yourself to the brink to prove that. You're strong and capable just the way you are. You've got nothing to prove to anyone, especially not to yourself."

You looked away, trying to hold back the emotions that were welling up inside you. "It's hard, Newt. I just don't feel like I'm enough sometimes."

Newt's expression grew tender, and he gently turned your face to look at him. "I know it's hard. But you don't have to go through this alone. You've got people who care about you, including me. And we want to see you healthy and happy, not burning out because you're pushing yourself too hard."

You nodded, the weight of his words sinking in. "I guess I've been so focused on this that I lost sight of what really matters."

"Hey," Newt said, squeezing your shoulder reassuringly. "It's okay to have goals and work towards them. But it's important to take care of yourself along the way. Balance is key. Don't forget to rest and take care of your body. It's not just about working out harder; it's about being healthy overall."

"I'll try," you said quietly. "I really will."

Newt smiled, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding. "That's all I ask. And remember, if you need support or someone to talk to, I'm here for you. We're all in this together."

You took a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude. "Thanks, Newt. I appreciate it."

"No problem," Newt said, standing up and offering you a hand. "Let's get you some rest and a good meal. You deserve it."

As you walked back together, Newt stayed close, his presence a comforting reminder that you didn't have to face your struggles alone. The journey towards self-acceptance and balance would be challenging, but with Newt's support, you felt a renewed sense of hope and determination.
