The day had started like any other in the Glade. The usual morning routines were in full swing: runners prepared for their daily sprint into the maze, while the builders worked on strengthening the fortifications around the camp. Frypan was already busy in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for everyone, and Newt was making his rounds, checking on the different groups, ensuring everything was running smoothly.

But then, the Box alarm rang out, cutting through the morning air like a sharp knife. Everything came to a sudden halt. The Box wasn't due for another week, so its early arrival sent a wave of anxiety through the Gladers. They all knew what it meant—someone new was coming up.

Newt was one of the first to reach the Box, pushing through the crowd of curious Gladers gathering around it. His heart raced, a mix of anticipation and dread filling his chest. Every time the Box brought someone new, it was a gamble.

Would they be strong, like Alby or Minho? Or would they be broken, like some of the others who didn't last long in the unforgiving world of the Glade?

The heavy metal doors of the Box creaked open, and a rush of stale air escaped. Newt peered inside, squinting against the dim light. He could see a figure, huddled in the corner, looking disoriented and scared. You.

"Bloody hell," Newt muttered under his breath, his heart twisting with sympathy. He knew exactly what you were going through—the fear, the confusion, the overwhelming sense of not knowing who you were or why you were there. It was the same for everyone who came up in the Box.

He jumped down into the Box, landing softly beside you. You flinched at the sudden movement, your eyes wide with panic as you looked up at him.

"Hey, hey, it's alright," Newt said gently, holding his hands up in a calming gesture. "I'm not gonna hurt you. My name's Newt. You're safe now."

You didn't respond, your mind too foggy to process what was happening. Newt knelt down beside you, his expression softening. He reached out slowly, placing a reassuring hand on your shoulder."I know you're scared," he said, his voice steady and comforting. "But you're safe, I promise. We're gonna help you, alright?"

You looked at him, your eyes full of uncertainty, but there was something in his voice, in the way he spoke to you, that made you feel a little less alone in this strange, terrifying place. You nodded slightly, and Newt offered you a small, encouraging smile.

"Good," he said, relieved that you seemed to be calming down. "Now, let's get you out of here, yeah?"

With Newt's help, you slowly stood up, your legs shaky and weak. He stayed close, his hand on your arm, guiding you towards the exit of the Box. As you climbed out, the bright sunlight hit your face, making you squint and wince. The other Gladers were all gathered around, staring at you with a mix of curiosity and pity.

"Alright, back off, you lot," Newt called out, his tone firm but not harsh. "Give them some space."

The crowd began to disperse, leaving you and Newt standing at the edge of the Box. He turned to face you, studying you for a moment. You were still trembling, your eyes darting around the Glade, taking in the high walls of the Maze, the towering trees, the unfamiliar faces.

"You're probably wondering where the hell you are," Newt said, his voice softening again.

"This place is called the Glade. It's... well, it's not easy to explain, but you'll figure it out soon enough. The important thing is, you're not alone. We're all in this together."

He could see the fear still lingering in your eyes, and he wanted so badly to make it go away. But he knew there were no easy answers, no simple way to make everything better. All he could do was be there for you, like others had been there for him when he first arrived.

"C'mon," Newt said, placing a supportive hand on your back. "Let's get you something to eat, maybe a drink. It'll help, trust me."

You followed him, your steps unsteady but a little more sure now with Newt by your side. As you walked, he began to explain the basics of life in the Glade, introducing you to the different areas and people, doing his best to make you feel a little less lost.

Throughout it all, Newt stayed close, his presence a constant reassurance. He didn't have all the answers, and he couldn't make the fear disappear, but he could be there, and sometimes, that was enough.

As the day went on, Newt kept a close eye on you, making sure you were settling in as best as you could. The Glade was a tough place, full of challenges and dangers, but with Newt by your side, you knew you had someone you could trust, someone who would help you navigate this strange new world. And in the days that followed, as you began to find your place among the Gladers, Newt was always there, offering a smile, a kind word, or just his steady, unwavering support.

And slowly, you began to realize that maybe, just maybe, you could make it through this—because you weren't alone.
