Newt was known for his calm demeanor and unwavering support in the Glade. His level-headedness had made him a trusted friend and a beloved leader among the Gladers. So when you and Newt started dating, everyone saw it as a perfect match, and Newt's friends were genuinely happy for him.

On this particular day, the atmosphere in the Glade was unusually chaotic. The heat of the sun was intense, and the sounds of the bustling Gladers seemed louder than usual. You had been feeling increasingly overwhelmed as sensory overload began to set in, but you tried to push through it, knowing that Newt would be by your side.

Newt, having noticed your distress but not fully grasping the extent of it, was busy with his usual tasks. He had asked you to help him with some organizing in the Map room. The task itself was simple, but the combination of the bright sunlight and the loud chatter outside made it hard for you to concentrate.

You were trying to focus, but the overwhelming noise and light made your head spin. You took deep breaths, trying to calm the storm inside your mind, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.

Newt was sorting through some maps, occasionally glancing at you with concern. He could see the strain on your face and the way you flinched at every loud noise. He approached you gently, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"Hey, love, you don't look so good. Are you alright?" His voice was soft, but the concern was evident.

You shook your head, unable to articulate how overwhelming everything was. You wanted to tell him, but the words seemed to get lost in the chaos of your mind.

Newt's eyes widened as he noticed your struggle. "Alright, we're going to take a break," he said firmly but gently. He guided you to a quieter corner of the Map room where the noise and light were less intense. He helped you sit down and went to grab a small cloth to shield your eyes from the harsh light.

"You're having a hard time, aren't you?" he said softly, returning to your side. He placed the cloth over your eyes, making sure it was comfortable. "I'm sorry, I should have noticed sooner."

You nodded, grateful for the gesture. Newt sat beside you, keeping his voice low and soothing. "Just breathe, okay? We don't have to do anything right now. I'm here, and we'll get through this together."

He gently massaged your shoulders, trying to help you relax. The calming touch and his steady presence began to ease the overload. He kept talking to you in soft tones, reassuring you that it was okay to take a break and that he was there for you.

After a few minutes, when you started to feel a bit more grounded, Newt helped you up and guided you to a shaded spot away from the busy areas. He set up a small, cozy area with cushions and soft blankets, creating a sanctuary for you to recover in peace.

"How about we just stay here for a while?" he suggested. "No need to rush anything. We can talk, or we can just sit quietly. Whatever you need."

You managed a small smile, feeling immense relief from his care. "Thank you, Newt. I really needed this."

"Anytime," Newt said softly, pulling you into a comforting embrace. "I'm here for you, always. Just let me know if there's anything else I can do."

As you settled into the comforting space Newt had prepared, you felt a deep sense of gratitude. His understanding and support made it easier to navigate the overwhelming sensations, reminding you that you weren't alone.
