The night in the Glade was quiet, with a few Gladers winding down after a long day. The stars were beginning to shine, and a cool breeze rustled through the camp. The common area near the fire pit was abuzz with conversation, laughter, and the occasional clink of metal cups.

You had been sipping from a jug of homemade brew that had made its way into the Glade. It was meant to be a special treat, but tonight, you found yourself drinking more than you usually did. The warmth of the alcohol was starting to take its toll, making your words slur and your movements a bit unsteady.

Newt, ever observant, noticed you from across the fire. He'd seen you laughing a bit too loudly and noticed how you were struggling to maintain your balance. He excused himself from his conversation and made his way over to you, concern etched on his face.

"Y/n, you alright?" Newt asked, his voice gentle but firm as he sat down next to you. His eyes scanned your flushed face and slightly glazed eyes.

You tried to smile, but it came out as more of a lopsided grin. "Yeah, Newt, just... having a good time. Why?"

Newt raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. "You've had a bit too much to drink, haven't you?"

You shrugged, trying to dismiss his concern. "I'm fine. Just a bit tipsy. Nothing to worry about."

Newt's expression softened, but there was a seriousness in his eyes. "Listen, love, I know it's tempting to have a good time, but this isn't like you. I've seen you handle your drink better than this."

You blinked at him, feeling a bit of the alcohol-induced fog clear as you realized he was genuinely worried. "It's just... I needed to unwind. Things have been rough lately."

Newt nodded, understanding but still concerned. "I get that. We all need to let loose sometimes. But there's a line, y'know? I don't want to see you pushing yourself too far and ending up in a bad spot."

You looked down at the cup in your hand, feeling a pang of guilt. "I didn't mean to... I guess I just lost track."

Newt gently took the cup from your hand and set it aside. "How about we get some water in you, yeah? Hydrate a bit and get you settled. It's not good to drink too much, especially when you're feeling low."

You nodded, grateful for his care. "Thanks, Newt. I'm sorry if I worried you."

"Don't be sorry," Newt said softly, his hand resting on your shoulder in a reassuring manner. "It's my job to look out for you. Just remember that you don't have to deal with things like this on your own."

He helped you up and guided you to a quieter spot away from the fire. He handed you a bottle of water and sat down next to you, making sure you were comfortable.

"I know things have been tough, and everyone needs a break now and then," Newt said.

"But next time, let's find a better way to unwind. And if you need to talk or just need someone to be there, I'm here."

You took a sip of the water, feeling the cool liquid help clear your mind. "I really appreciate that, Newt. I guess I got carried away tonight."

Newt gave you a reassuring smile. "We all do sometimes. Just promise me you'll take it easy and look after yourself, okay?"

"Promise," you said, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude. "Thanks for being here."

Newt nodded and patted your back gently. "Anytime, love. Now, let's get you back to your tent before you fall asleep out here."

As you both walked back to your tent, supported by Newt's steady presence, you felt a deep sense of comfort. His care and understanding reminded you that, even in the midst of the challenges in the Glade, you had someone who truly cared about your well-being.
