It's been a week now since we started working.
Tyler and I sometimes commute together as he drops and picks me up from time to time.
Nathan and Sherry are supposed to be gone for about a month, even though that is technically a very long leave but because those practically never take time off, even the doctors at the hospital and a few other friends from different hospitals pitched in to help out while they're both gone.
Juvi was busy with her clients and boutique that she was working at as usual and Gray with his restaurant although he seemed slightly off for a couple of days I decided to let it be until he feels comfortable to discuss.
* AT WORK *
"Miss Vivylyn, some flowers arrived this morning for you. I've kept it at your desk." George informed me as I punched in my attendance.
George was a security guard a little over 70 in age. He didn't want to sit at home ideal and thought it might be a good way to save up some money for the family too. He is a sweet old man with his gray hair covered by the company hat.
He was always friendly and attentive towards me and would politely greet everyone in the morning as we all started our day. He came from a humble family and had a daughter who worked at the bakery nearby with his son-in-law who married into the family and now has a granddaughter around 3 years old. His happy and cheery nature was always a delight to be around.
"Thanks, George, and good morning!" I greeted him as I walked into the building.
On my desk sat a huge bouquet of red roses adorned with pearls and baby's breath bushes, wrapped in white mesh and golden ribbons.
I immediately knew who might've sent it but I didn't wanna give in so easily, even though I was pretty touched by his gesture. He could only last a couple of days when I told him I'll contact him first.
A small white card with golden letters hidden between the rose petals said, "Dinner at 7 p.m. after work?"
It's the first time he actually asked rather than just stating it as facts and doing as he pleases. Maybe he's learned his lesson but I can't let my guard down just yet.
Although I really do wanna meet up with him and see for myself that he's the same Jacob I knew, I can't let myself be swayed by him.
I'm scared to face reality.
Argh! But I don't want these flowers to go to waste. You idiot! Your self-respect is more important than that!
"Hey Vivy! Woah! That's a pretty expensive bouquet you got there!" Hazel crept in from behind me as she peered over my shoulder to read the card aloud.
"Dinner at 7 p.m. after work? How romantic~" her words practically slurred off her tongue.
"You got to be ready! You know what I mean right!" Hazel excitedly chirped as I shook my head in embarrassment.
"Alright! get to work!"
Sorry, Hazel but I don't think that's happening.
I was pretty private about our relationship so nobody knew I was dating the CEO of the Dominic group.
It was a huge question mark for all the people around me but surprisingly enough no one approached me.
It's probably because I'm still new here may be?
But this bouquet surely made an impression that I am I'm dating someone.
Did he deliberately send it?
