By the time morning came, every bone in my body screamed not to wake up and wished morning hadn't come so soon. I cried myself to sleep and woke up at the first light of dawn. It was slightly cold and as I wrapped my blanket around me I couldn't feel the warmth I felt before.
* DOOR OPENS *
* Third Person's p.o.v. *
"Man this sucks!" Gray sighed as he walked to the kitchen while rubbing his belly under his t-shirt. At the same time,
* DOOR OPENS * *CLICK*
He saw Nathan trudge through the living room carefully treading his steps as if he'd broken into someone else's home. "You know this is your house too right?"
"Jesus Christ F..!" A startled Nathan almost cursed as Gray mysteriously appeared out of nowhere.
"Yeah sure." The awkward silence that followed later was thick enough for a knife to cut through like butter.
He clearly wanted to know if Vivy was alright but didn't know how to approach the topic.
"Seriously!" Gray sighed as he scratched the back of his head and he yawned hard and wide, as if tired from the whole sibling drama.
"How about you drop that stubbornness of yours and go check up on her yourself. I'm sick of this weirdness that you two created. Damn it!" and got to work pretending to not care himself when he too has been pinning over the same thing.
* KNOCK KNOCK *
"Vivy" Nathan waited for her response but when he didn't hear back he decided to go in to check for himself, "Vivy I'm coming in."
* OPENS DOOR *
"Hey, you awake?"
No response.
As he approached the curled-up blanket he knelt down and caressed her head (or so he assumed).
"I'm sorry for shouting at you yesterday. I shouldn't have raised my voice like that. I'm sure you must have been taken by surprise. Listen I have my reasons and I'm ready to talk it out so let's talk alright? I promise I won't get angry and I'll explain my side as best as I can okay? Please understand your brother's worries. I . . . I'm really worried is all. Even if you hate me I'll still love you. What do you say?" Nathan waited for my response,
"Hmm?" and waited but something felt wrong,
"Did Vivy always feel this chubby and squishy? Huh!" he pulled the blanket only to find a couple of pillows stacked to make it look like someone was asleep under the blanket!
* THUD THUD THUD *
As Gray assumed the thud to be his baby sister's clumsy steps down the stairs, who usually comes over to give him the usual morning hugs, instead, he was pulled by his collar by a devastated Nathan as if fearing for his life, "Where is Vivy?" he asked nervously. His hand trembled with fear and his breath ragged.
"What?" was all Gray could blurt out.
They both rushed to my room only to find an empty bed and scattered pillows and sheets.
"Did she already leave for college? I'll go see if Tyler has left yet! Wait, isn't it too early though? No, I must've gotten the time wrong. I'll go over to Sherry's and see." Nathan rushed downstairs in a frenzy but Gray stopped him,
"Wait, Nathan, today's Saturday. There's no way she has college today!"
Nathan grew paler by the minute.
