After spending the whole day just laying in bed and binge-watching, Gray finally brought me back to reality as he made me stand in the corridor room facing the wall to reflect on my mistakes until Nathan arrived while he lay around on the couch reading some cook's magazines.
Geez, what am I ten?! Man, this is embarrassing.
* CLICK DOOR OPEN * * BANG *
"Where is she?" Nathan haphazardly asked flailing his shoes around as he entered. His tie was loose and his shirt sleeves rolled up untidily. He threw his coat in the hallway and as he observed the entrance more carefully he finally saw me in that embarrassing position while I try to avoid eye contact at all costs.
"What are you doing?" he asked as he saw me go through with punishment.
"Pfft" Yeah sure laugh and here I thought you were all worried about me and whatnot.
"She needed that to cool her stupid brain cooking up stupid ideas!" Gray said leisurely lying around.
Before I could talk back to him I found myself in a firm yet familial embrace.
The same deodorant that he had been using for years now and the warmth I have been feeling since I was a child. It felt good to finally return to this warmth. But I felt a little sad when I sensed how fast his heart was beating and his tight embrace as if he had found someone lost after a long time. I sensed the desperation as his arms quivered a little.
"I *ahem* I'm glad you're okay! Don't ever do that to us, got it!" he choked a little while he said that and I felt a little bad for seeing my brother that way.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again ever." while I was at it I couldn't help but feel embarrassed a little but even so I whispered,
"I don't hate you brother~."
I could feel his arms tighten around me and his shoulder relaxed as if a huge burden had been lifted.
"Alright, you two. Dinner's ready, I didn't get time to cook so I brought the leftovers from the restaurant. Nathan, go freshen up and Vivy, go bring out the plates." the Mom-Gray ordered around but I took it up as I was desperately trying to hide my glossy eyes and bashful ears after saying something so embarrassing consciously.
That night we had dinner just like we always used to without any reservations except until Nathan touched on the topic of Jacob.
"Listen Vivy, regarding Jacob, I . . ." I knew he had his concerns but I didn't want any further debate neither was I a pushover so I interrupted him,
"See Nathan, I'm not saying I'm going to marry him, I just want to start a relationship that's all. Don't worry I won't do anything you don't feel comfortable about. But if you're still against the idea then I won't. But at least let me spend some time with him as a friend. Try giving him a chance as well." I tried to explain as calmly as I could.
"Nathan, if you want I'll be the guard dog so you can rest assured. But I agree with Vivy, he might be a good person." Well, well, what do we have here? Gray backed me up! Even though it was in his own annoyingly roundabout way until he ruined it again.
"But I seriously don't think I like him after seeing him today! As she said she isn't going to marry him. Not that any guy deserves to ever hold her hands, let alone marry her but we can't keep stifling her like this. She's soon gonna graduate so I think she should experience the world too, you know."
Hold up did I just hear Gray say all that sappy stuff?
"I never knew you had it in you, Gray!" I blurted out without thinking.
