* DOORBELL RINGS *
"HUH!" Sherry and Nathan gasped when they glanced at the cradle.
"Safe."
They were finally able to make Angelica sleep and were worried she might wake up.
"I'll get the door."
"Helloz" I met a slightly drunk man probably a year or two older than Tyler but a little shorter than him. He had a neat buzz cut, his curly hair and beard, trimmed short, complimenting his formal disheveled attire while supporting a completely drunk Tyler on his shoulder on one side.
He smiled brightly under his pink nose due the cold. The seasons were still entering spring but not there quite yet.
"Ugh! He's heavy." A young red-headed girl groaned under Tyler's weight.
"Oh! My bad, sorry.. Here let me help. Is he not awake?" I inquired as I unburdened Tyler from her.
Geez!
Don't drink to the point you trouble your friends.
"Oh no. He was until earlier. Geez did he fall asleep on the way?" The man informed me as he worried Tyler might be too heavy for me.
"Are you sure you're alright carrying him? He's really heavy!"
"Shush!" I implored awkwardly.
"Sorry, my niece just fell asleep. And no he's alright." I smiled nervously as I continued to speak softly.
He doesn't feel that heavy to me though. Is he awake?
"I'm really sorry for the trouble Tyler caused. Thank you for bringing him home. Are you his friends?" I inquired as I supported a drunk Tyler.
"Oh! I see! My apologies. We work on the same team. Sorry, we got a little out of hand celebrating his promotion today! He did insist on coming home immediately but we kept him until this late. ahaha!" the man laughed nervously.
"Oh! Really!"
"Ah! Sorry for the late introductions, I'm Orba Petterson and this young lady here, who joined recently is Carmel White." Orba introduced her and when I finally had the chance to look at her properly, she was breathtakingly beautiful.
Her long auburn red hair cascaded down the side of her fair and pale face while her cheeks and nose were painted in blush from the cold. Her slightly drunk yet tired hazel green eyes glinted from the light as her sharp gaze met mine.
"Hello" I nodded shyly before realizing I had been keeping them out for too long.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry. It's so cold and I've kept you both waiting outside. Would you like to come in for a bit?"
"Oh no! We wouldn't want to impose on you. Thank you for the suggestion but maybe next time." Orba smiled gently as he waved at me.
"Of course not. You should join us for dinner sometime." I smiled gleefully as I invited them of my own accord.
I want to meet Tyler's friends from work and well possible prospects for his girlfriend!
"I'll take your word for it then. That guy just wouldn't even—" Orba was interrupted by a groaning Tyler who was waking up from his light nap.
"Tyler are you awake?" I asked Tyler so he could go inside and sleep properly but he only hugged me and dozed off standing.
"Geez! Go inside and sleep." He shamelessly nuzzled me into my neck in front of Orba and Carmel and I flustered.
