"Hey, John! How have you been?" I hugged John as we met at the Palentoni Hotel a little outside Albosh with Lucy who was my ride.
The room was sober and had a nice victorian aesthetic along the themes of turquoise and pearl white. We were probably in a master suite which had a lounge area within the room where we settled in.
I wonder why this hotel specifically?
And why on a Thursday at that?
"It's been a while, John" Lucy bear-hugged the old man as he smiled gently and patted her shoulder affectionately.
He seems to really care about Lucy.
He really did care about Jacob too.
He is truly loyal to the Dominic House then why did he dissolve the company? I wonder what Jacob wrote in his will?
The evening Sherry and Juvi visited me I received a text from John asking to meet at this hotel with Lucy to discuss the will Jacob had left behind.
I later received another text from Lisa to confirm if the Dominic Group was dissolved recently and merged with a different company.
I was wondering why I hadn't seen John that often but maybe he was busy taking care of the mess we left behind.
"I'm sorry. You've been busy when you should've been retiring. I made you work to your bones to clean up after my messes." I apologized to John who immediately refuted without a second's hesitation.
"Not at all, Miss Vivy. Please don't undermine yourself like that. This was all according to Master Jacob's will. I have only been following his final orders."
Final orders he said.
I felt a slight tug on my heart.
"Why don't you both try these sweets I ordered beforehand? I know you like chocolate and Lady Lucy's favorite Peach tarts." He chuckled as he bribed us with sweets to lighten the mood.
I can see he's been affected by his grandchildren and softened up on the butler role a bit.
It suits him though!
I couldn't help but chuckle too as we both savored the sweets he offered and Lucy thoroughly enjoyed them.
"Umm....These are delicious! I love them! Thanks, John!"
Lucy had another bite from her peach tart when I noticed a few crumbs on the side of the mouth. Before I knew it I was cleaning it up for her as a habit I picked up whenever I fed Genny.
"Hmm? Hahaha Vivy..." she laughed and I felt a little embarrassed.
"Sorry, it's become a habit since I started looking after Genny."
"Oh no. I didn't mean it that way, you just caught me off-guard. But it feels nice to be cared for." Lucy smiled solemnly before turning to John as she genuinely asked.
"So, you called us to meet here with you to discuss the will but I don't know why you called me too. Was it to keep Vivy company?"
"Oh no. Both of you are equally involved in the matter." John informed and cleared his throat before continuing, "Ahem, alright then let's get started then shall we?"
He opened a briefcase on his lap and took some papers out and read them to us,
"
