The day had gone by fast and it was now 18:30pm. I had spent the whole day talking and getting to know Kate and everyone was now either in their own rooms or in the living room. I realised that Kate hadn't picked her room yet so I decided to take her upstairs to choose one.

"So any room with a green handprint on the keypad at the side of the door is available" I explained

"Hey which is yours ?" She asked me with a small smirk .

I smiled and walked down the hall to the end room and I leaned against the door. "This one, it's got the best view and a balcony"

"Wow lucky you" she chuckled, rolling her eyes at my bragging.

Kate looked at the room next to mine and walked over to the keypad. She glanced at me then looked down at the glowing green hand print display on the screen.

"Green means available right?" She said not taking her eyes off the handprint.

"Yep"

She placed her hand on the scanner and it turned blue like the rest of ours.

"Identification?" FRIDAY stated

Kate gave me a look as if asking for permission.
I smiled and nodded.

"Kate Bishop"

"Welcome Kate Bishop"

She took her hand off the pad and smiled at me, "guess we're neighbours now" She opened the door and walked into her room. It looked similar to mine just a little smaller and minus the balcony.

"Mines still better" I joked

"Oh shut up" Kate was leaning against the windowsill, looking at the mountains and the sea beside them. It seemed as if there was something on her mind, she looked... nervous in a way.

I walked over to her and leaned on the windowsill next to her, "Hey, everything okay Kate?" I asked looking into her eyes.

She looked at me for a short second, then dropped her head into her hands and ran them through her hair. She turned back to me and she just looked into my eyes. "Honestly, it's just, you kn- I don't- i guess just all of this feels weird to me. Like I feel like I don't really belong here. And I dunno maybe it's all just nerves and stuff, but I- I dunno it's all new to me and I ju- "

"Kate of course you belong here, just like everyone else here you deserve to have this spot on the team" I noticed a tear had fallen out of her eye " it's okay I know it's scary but I'm here with you, so you know, we can be scared together"

Tears kept falling from her eyes. I wanted to hug her but I thought nah it would be weird. But then she wiped her eyes and walked over to me. She looked at me, for a second then wrapped her arms over my shoulder and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my head on her shoulder.

"Y/n that was the dumbest thing I've ever heard" she laughed "but thank you, for today. I really liked talking to you." She spoke in a soft tone, almost a whisper.

"Yeah, no problem." I hugged her tighter, matching her tone as I spoke.

We stayed like this for at least 6-7 minutes. Just hugging each other.

"Hey wanna watch a movie?" Kate asked pulling out if the hug.

"Yeah sure, what d'you wanna watch?"

She walked over to the sofa and sat down. She picked up the remote and started flicking through the movies pre-downloaded by Tony.

"What about the Shaun of the Dead" she said looking back at me.

"Yeah sure, can I just go get changed into something more comfortable?" I asked

"Yeah of course, hurry though" she said giving me a warm smile.

I quickly went back into my room and got changed into grey joggers and one of Nat's black hoodies. I fixed my hair and brushed my teeth so when the film was done I could go straight to sleep. I grabbed my phone and a blanket and head back into Kate's room.

When I got in, Kate was standing by the wardrobe, she had purple sweat pants on but she was only wearing a sports bra on her top half. She must have been in the middle of getting changed and I could feel my cheeks going red.

"Um sorry I didn't know you were changing as well, I should've knocked" I said turning away and going to sit on the couch.

Kate laughed and she came down and sat next to me. "It's fine don't worry" she was now wearing the same purple sweater that I spilled coffee down, except it was clean now.

"Oo a blanket perfect" she grabbed one side of the blanket and spread half of it across her lap, the other half she flung across mine. She shuffled closer to me and laid her head on my shoulder. I tensed at her action but then relaxed, resting my head on hers. We then watched the film and stayed sat like this through the whole thing.
