The shot she didn't take

Rekindling feelings

"Hey Kate you ready?" I shouted from the living room waiting for Kate to get changed.

"Yeah coming!" she yelled back.

The bedroom door opened and Kate walked out wearing the pastel purple bikini I had made  her. She had some black Nike shorts over the bottom half but the straps were pulled up at the side so they were visible. On her top half, she wore a loose white cropped T-shirt to cover the swimsuit.

I was wearing the same bikini in a pretty safe green. I too had shorts and a T-shirt over the top but they were just my training clothes, which were all plain black with the avengers logo on the right side of the shorts and the top right of the shirt. I had cropped the T-shirt with a hair tie since it was very hot outside.

I noticed Kate had already put her hair into her signature ponytail, so I quickly tied mine up into a simple messy bun, just to keep it out of the way.

She walked over to me and held out her right arm. My eyes met with hers and she gave me a warm smile, biting her bottom lip.

"Let's go." She said softly and I stood up, taking her hand.

She lead us outside, out of the door and onto the soft grass. We walked hand in hand for around 10 minutes until we reached a clear blue lake.

The water was crystal clear and it sparkled where the sun rays hit it. The large lake was surrounded by boulders and rocks, almost as if it was hidden, apart from the open side where we were stood. I saw some steps that lead round to a waterfall that flowed perfectly into  the still water.

"This is beautiful..." Kate said as she stared at the sight in front of her.

"Music?" I asked as I held up a portable speaker.

"Where'd that come from?" Kate asked laughing a little.

"I made it..." I said.

"Okay well then yeah put some music on." Kate smiled.

After connecting the speaker and playing some music, I knelt down and placed my hand in the water.

"Perfect temperature for swimming as well." I said, " shall we get on now or la- AH KATE!"

*Splash*

Kate had taken the opportunity to push me into the lake as I was crouched down. She was absolutely pissing herself laugh- it was not funny.

"Oh ha ha very funny Kate. Classic." I said when I had surfaced the water.

"I'm sorry- I...I had to it was to perfect." She said as she tried to stop laughing.

"Okay, well at least help me out." I said offering my hand to her. She took my hand and began to pull me up, but at the last second I tugged her arm back towards me, pulling her in. Kate screamed as she fell into the water besides me, soon surfacing trying to catch her breath.

I swam closer to her and placed my hand on her waist, holding her up as she calmed down.

"You're okay." I laughed.

"I know, I know." Kate said as she pulled herself closer to my by hugging her arms around my neck. Our bodies were touching.

We were stood up where it was shallow enough. Kate kept her arms around my neck and I kept my hands on her waist. She looked deeply into my eyes and my heart began beating faster. I knew this look. I love the way she looks at me, it makes me so nervous yet so relaxed. She looked at me like no one else ever has. She looked at me like i was the only person she wanted. And I look at her like that. She makes me feel so at home.

I love her. I always have, always will.

My eyes flicked down to Kate's lips, then back up to her eyes, which never left mine. She smiled and leaned in. The gap between us closed as our lips connect in a deep kiss. Kate moved her hands up to cup my cheeks as our kiss deepened. I pushed Kate by her hips and I slowly walked her backwards until she hit the edge of the lake. She gasped at the feeling of the cold stone pressing against her back. I took this opportunity to attach my lips to her neck and I began to suck her skin the sweet spot under her jawline. I made sure to leave hickeys as I made my way down her neck then back up. Kate lifted my head up and kissed my lips again.

I pulled away and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek, causing Kate to pull a sad and confused face at why I stopped.

"Relax, we can continue this later. For now, let's swim." I smiled at her and pulled her away from the edge by her hands.

"Okay fine." She smiled back.

We took our T-shirts and shorts off and threw them onto the grass. After our make out, we started to swim in the clear blue water, listening to the music and enjoying our alone time in the sun.
