+THIRD+The library is quieter than usual as students do their work. The beginning of the year and the end of the year are always the most satisfying time for a librarian. Everyone gets there to work and not socialize. They keep their books organized, their bags together and check in and out as they should.
Nobody comes to fool around or use it as a 'meeting spot' to leave for other activities. It's strictly an educational atmosphere.
Malia sits at the desk, highlighting in her textbook as she reads. She makes small notes to help her remember complicated parts of what she's learned. Her and Camryn have been in the library for an hour doing their work. Kaia and Rachel joined them 30 minutes ago after they texted the group chat to see if anyone else wanted to join them.
Shaking her pen as it runs out of ink, Malia pokes her lips out.
"Dammit. One of y'all got an extra pen?"
"I have a pencil." Kaia says and Malia shakes her head.
"Those write weird in textbooks. Pens are much smoother."
"They might have some up by the librarian's desk or by the study supply table. Just ask the guy that runs it. He probably has a pack up there." Rachel advises and Malia thanks her as she gets up.
She walks to the librarian's desk and asks for a pen. He tells her that he doesn't have one but to check the study supply table at the back. Malia thanks him with a smile that he returns kindly.
She passes by rows of book shelves as she makes her way to the back of the library. She finds the study supply table and sees the line. There's about six or so people when she steps in. She folds her arm against her chest and taps her fingers on them. She didn't bring her phone thinking that she wouldn't need it.
"You runnin out of stuff too, huh?"
Malia turns and looks at the voice behind her. Her eyes widen for a second before she composes herself.
"Yeah. My pen ran out of ink." She says before turning back around. Her heart beats a little faster in her chest out of embarrassment. Is it normal for him to still be trying talk to her?
She didn't even know him prior to that night. Namjoon seemed upset about him being near her so she decides that even if it is normal for them to still talk after she rejected him, she'll limit the interactions.
She doesn't know what possessed him to kiss her or ask for more than that. She's repulsed by the thought. The idea of having sex with anybody except Namjoon makes her skin crawl. It's an uncomfortable thing and she doesn't want to think about it anymore.
She doesn't even know Isaac. That alone makes her upset.
"They'll be stocked for them here. Trust me. I'm always over here when I lose something or need an extra."
Malia gives a tight lipped smile and nod as she continues to face the front. He's standing off to the side a bit so he can still see her face to speak to her.
"I assume thats why they call it the supply desk." She says and he laughs.
"You're still funny. I thought it was just the alcohol that gave you a sense of humor." Isaac says. "Some people are only funny when they're drunk."
He continues to talk and Malia faces front.
"You got practice tonight?"
"Mhm." She nods.
"Damn. What nights you gonna be free then?" He asks. Malia's fingers stop tapping. She could have swore that she told him she was with Namjoon already. Did she not tell him? She is sure that she did. If he doesn't take that for a reason to stop talking to her, what will work?
