It's cold. It's wet. It's windy. It's a really dreary kind of day. It's the kind of weather you stay indoors for. Cuddled up with blankets and sleeping the day away.
Unfortunately, neither of those are options for me. Granted, I could fall sleep right here in this bed. But I'm too anxious for that.
I bit my nails down to nothing on the plane, which my mother wasted no time in pointing out. And I was bouncing my leg fast enough for people to think there was turbulence midair.
The hour that I've been dreading has finally come and I'm a wreck.
I grab my my shirt and put it on, huffing as I do it. The alarm on my phone starts going off and turn it off before it can ring for too long.
It's two o'clock in the morning and I know for a fact that I'm the only one awake.
When we landed and got to the resort, Seokjin and my mother got all of the room information situated and handed us all our keys. We all split and showered, decided to order room service for the night considering how late it was when we got here. It was way past dinner time so restaurants on the resort were closed.
I figured everybody would be asleep by now, Malia included. I'm going to have to wake her up for this.
I walk out of my room and down to hers. She's one room over from mine. It's the least that could be done since she's not rooming with me. I didn't want to force her to share a room with me. But I also didn't want her to be too far away from either.
Stopping at her door, I knock three times and wait. Of course, she doesn't answer. So I pull my phone out to call her. It rings three times before she answers with a tired sigh.
"I'm coming."
I hear her shuffling around the room for a few seconds before she hangs up. The door opens and she squints her eyes, shielding them from the light of the hall.
I step into the doorway, shielding her from the light with my body. She takes a step back to let me in and I feel the heat of her room immediately.
Closing the door behind me, I look around to see that she hasn't really unpacked anything. She just got her night clothes out left her suitcase open.
"What time is it?" She asks, rubbing her eyes.
"A little after two."
"Right." She says quietly as she walks to her suitcase. She unzips the inside pocket and grabs out the pill bottle. It's lightweight, only having one singular pill in it.
We both look at it, staring without blinking.
"Can you hand me that water off the dresser, please?" She points and I look over to my left.
I grab the water and pass it to her. She sits on her bed and uncaps the pill bottle. Shaking it out into her hand, she stares at it.
It's a little white pill. It fits right in the palm of her hand and is smaller than a dime. Such a small thing with such a big impact.
Malia looks up at me with tears in her eyes. I walk over as soon as I see them.
"I don't know if I can do this, Namjoon."
I don't know what to say. She doesn't have to do any damn thing. So I'm not going to tell her that. But it feels like everything that I could say is wrong. I do not want to tell her that getting rid of our child is a good thing.
