++THIRD++"I'm starting to feel kinda untouchable, guys." Tyrell says. "I don't know. I feel like that's dangerous. Humble me."
The guys walk down the street after an intense food session. They had a game that, of course, won. It could've been by the skin of their teeth... had Midas not been so lost in thought.
His annoyed state seemed to intimidate players on the court enough for them to want to... avoid him in a way. That, and the fact that he's almost impossible to guard.
There was an entire dispute in a timeout with the other team because nobody wanted to guard this man.
Right after the win, they celebrated with dinner on their coach.
"Your hairline pushing back like your father's. You gonna be Lebron in bout five years." Hakeem tells him.
Tyrell smacks his teeth and Namjoon laughs, coming to his rescue.
"Nah, hold on. Lebron a legend. That's not really a bad thing."
"You right." Jay agrees. "The loss of his hairline for the gain of four rings? I'll take it."
"Y'all ain't shit." Tyrell says as he laughs.
They push each other around as they walk and Midas takes a step back from their rough-housing. He's not really up for it right now and it'll annoy him when he gets pushed accidentally.
"What's wrong with you, Midas?" Namjoon steps back from the rest of the group.
He's been noticing his attitude for the last two days but assumed it was just passing emotions. Maybe he was temporarily pissed by something. Maybe he and Cam got into an argument. Who knows?
"Nothing, man." Midas looks at the ground and shakes his head.
"You and Cam got into an argument?"
"Mmm..." Yes, actually. They did.
On completely opposite ends and neither of them wanted to back down. They're debating over the same thing, coming to the defense of both of their friends. It's been two days and no headway has been made.
"Nah." Midas responds. "We're good. I'm just tired. I haven't been getting a whole lot of sleep lately."
"Tell me about it." Namjoon huffs. "Feels like I'm running on E. I don't know how I haven't dropped yet."
"Adrenaline. Pure adrenaline. Why haven't you been sleeping?"
Namjoon puts his hands in his pockets and looks at the ground.
"You miss her?"
"Mhm." Joon nods. "I feel like maybe I'm not supposed to given the circumstances. But it's hard. I'm not ready to move on and I really don't want to. I feel like she's giving up on me and I don't like that. I'd never do that to her."
"You guys have been through a lot together, though. Trust me, I don't get it either." Midas shakes his head. "The break-up, I do get. Because maybe she just needs another break and you could both use some reflecting."
"But it's just that. We need time to heal and everything." Namjoon states. "I'm understanding of that. But why does that mean she gets to be with somebody else? Already? All the things we just went through and she's just gone already? Friends, my ass."
That's what's really getting to him. Everything they've gone through, everything they've overcome together and it's gone. It's over with. It means nothing.
"I miss her." Namjoon admits. And to be truthful, he kind of wants to fight Yoongi.
He wants to knock him clean out for even stepping in the way of what he and Malia have going on. Had Yoongi not intervened, Namjoon knows that he and Malia would've been working things out. He knows they'd have taken some time out of the relationship but still been around each other.
