++JANAE++Malia and I have been best friends for a long time. I know everything about that girl. And I mean everything. Our parents are the best of friends, our cycles are synced up like a Bluetooth system and I can give you a rundown of her day for every scenario you can think of. I can accurately predict, no, tell you, exactly what she'd do and give you a reason too.
So why on this here earth, does she think she can get away with lying to me? Even Xavier doesn't believe her.
She's being very convincing, I must say so myself. He had to actually wait a couple minutes to observe her before he gave me a look of confusion.
I shrugged and shook my head. I don't know what's wrong with her either. And asking her is clearly going to be of no help. She brushed it off and assures that she was fine. She was just having 'an off day'. Funny coming from one of the most expressive people I've ever met in my life.
If she was just having an off day, I'd know. Xavier would know. Everybody that's looked at her today would know regardless of if they made eye contact with her or not. But that's not the case. You have to look Malia in her eyes, really look at her to see that something is bothering her.
And that's how I know that it's serious. Malia can't hide her feelings for jack shit. The fact that she's actively trying this hard is bothering me. It's out of her character.
Laid with her head in my lap and her feet in Xavier's, Malia is laid across the couch watching Bob's Burgers. She came over after her classes and made herself comfortable.
She didn't really talk much, just saying that she was exhausted from the day. She did her homework with us at the dining room table and then got comfortable on the couch with us.
It's been almost an hour and she's been quietly watching this show, rubbing my knee like the little weirdo that she is.
"Li, where's Joon?" Xavier asks.
She shrugs. "At practice still, I think."
I raise a brow and Xavier side eyes me. Yeeaahhh, something ain't right. There's never an 'I think' when it come to that man and his whereabouts.
"He should be out soon." She picks up her phone to look at the time. Perfect timing as it starts ringing. A call from Namjoon himself. She slides the green arrow over and his face pops into the screen.
"I was about to ask where you were but I see Janae big ass head right there."
"Don't get beat." I say and he smiles before giving the attention back to Malia.
"I'm gonna shower and change then come over there. Practice ran late because Coach tryna get the freshman together and making everybody else suffer."
"Okay." Malia says. "I'll see you when you get here. I love you."
"I love you more, baby. I'll be over in a minute."
"Alright."
Namjoon kisses the camera before hanging up. Malia swipes to her text threads and opens Hakeem's.
She types out a text and sends it. She doesn't even slide out of the thread. She just waits for him to text back.
