+PART ONE+
+SOPHOMORE YEAR+

"Okay.. so. You met him at a party. Y'all kissed and you never saw him again?"

Namjoon questions as Malia stands in front of him. His arms are crossed and she pulls at her acrylic nails nervously.

"I didn't kiss him. He kissed me. We were sitting together at the party. He wanted to do more and I told him no."

"This is what I was saying, Malia. You can't be everybody's friend. He could have done anything. Outside of that, he put his mouth on you." He tries not to raise his voice in the situation, wanting to stay calm about this so she doesn't feel blamed.

Trying to, stay calm, rather.

"I'm sorry, Namjoon. He kissed me and I pushed him. I didn't want him to do that. I left and went home right after."

"Who was it?"

"What?" Malia's voice is soft.

"Who was it?" He clenches his jaw as he looks at her with hard eyes. He looks upset and slightly disgusted. He knows that it wasn't her fault but he's so pissed off from her naivety and the situation in general that it's skewing his emotions.

Either it's somebody that she knows or a complete stranger.

She offers no response. Her lips part as if she's going to speak but she doesn't. She licks her lips instead, putting her head down.

That doesn't give him any answer and he puts his head back and sighs. He puts his hands on his hips to avoid balling them up in frustration. He's learning not to lash out.

Over the summer, a lot of things pissed him off. Combine that with the Georgia heat and Malia's ask for a break, he was filled over his head with anger.

So he started boxing. Mr. Ward has taught him how to build and release, clenching and unclenching his fists to keep himself calm.

"It only happened once, Namu. I'm sorry." Malia's voice is quieter than usual. This isn't his first time asking her if anything happened over the summer. It's the second, he couldn't shake the feeling and Malia was terrified of telling him.

She didn't want to be kissed by the guy nor did she want to be felt up by him. It scared her and she practically ran her way through the people to leave. All she told anybody was that he kissed her. She thinks that maybe she gave off the wrong impression.

Namjoon looks at her as she wipes her eyes. Her cheeks are showing their natural undertones as she cries.

It's not her fault, he keeps telling himself but that doesn't change how he feels about it. It's the principle of the situation. It's the weight that this holds in his chest, the disgust that somebody did this to her. That and the fact that she won't outright tell him who it was.

"I'm sorry, Namjoon. I-."

"Stop apologizing, Lia. It wasn't your fault. You didn't ask him to kiss you and you didn't initiate it. I'm just-." He huffs. He's fucking pissed. Who would kiss her without her wanting it? Who would feel that fucking comfortable with her to do such a thing?

"I need a minute to calm down. You won't tell me who it is so I'm just going to have to get over it."

She looks at him as his thoughts race. His head starts to hurt at all of the possibilities. Malia sees the confusion in his eyes; the possible doubt.

"You've never seen him after that?" He asks for clarification.

"No. We met at the party Janae took me to. I got tired of being in the house because people were drunk and smelled gross so he walked me out to the backyard in the garden where it was quieter and fresher."

"Why didn't you tell me?" For his own sanity, he needs to know. He has to.

"Because I didn't want you to be upset with me."
Malia sniffles and his arms drop to console her. She apologizes over and over again into his shirt.

"It's okay, baby. It's okay." He says as he holds her against him. He could never be upset with her for things that happened out of her area of consent. That is not her fault and she can never be blamed for them.

She picks her head up to look at him.

"I'm sorry. I don't want to be with anyone but you. I'll leave everybody alone. I promise."

Namjoon shakes his head as he wipes her cheeks. The look in her eyes is determined. He knows that she's serious. It's borderline annoying how conflicted he feels about that. He wants her to never speak to another man again for her own safety at this point. But they share mutual male friends that genuinely care about her.

That wouldn't be fair to any of them and if they knew about what happened, they'd be just as pissed off. They also wouldn't care to listen if he told them to stay away from her.

Namjoon closes his eyes as he kisses her. Long and slow, his lips are on hers. The soft sounds of their lips smacking together is what Malia focuses on. That, and the feeling of him against her. It's incomparable to anything she's ever felt. This is what this is supposed to feel like.

Namjoon savors every moment of it. His tongue is in harmony with hers, making him feel warm and comforted.

When their lips part, he doesn't want them to. But if they stand there any longer, he'll want to have his way with her until his name is chanted from her lips. He wants to brand her most precious parts with himself.

But he won't. Not yet, anyway.

"You don't have to do that. You don't know the guy. You'll probably never see him again. But I just..." He says as he thinks.

"I need to calm down for a couple days. Okay, baby? I don't want to be this upset around you. The anger isn't meant for you." He keeps his hands on her skin as she nods.

"You know that you did nothing wrong, right? That it's not your fault?" He asks her, looking her in the eyes to make sure that she's hearing him the way that he needs her to. Malia looks at him with a steady heart rate and teary eyes.

"Yes."

"Good." He pecks her lips again. "I love you."

"I love you, too." She replies as she rests her head on his chest. She uses his warmth for comfort as he rubs her back.

Namjoon stares at the wall ahead of them, internally seething. He can't think of anything but one male friend of hers in mind to have a very heated conversation with.
