"So how long y'all been going back and forth then?"

Kaia asks Taija as they all sit in the living room. As their girl's night unwinds, so do the gossip and stories. The first and targeted one, being Taija. Her friends want to know why she's been so glum lately. And of course, they've used this time to ask her.

She told them about her and Tyrell's situation and they were kind of surprised by that given the way that he behaves about the rest of them.

"Yeah, basically. He said he doesn't want us to break up but he doesn't want us to really be together either. He's worried that we'll have to separate when we leave school and he doesn't want to."

"So then he needs to leave you alone then." Camryn says. "Like I get that he loves you, but he's being selfish. He's kind of just dragging you in the gray area. It's confusing and it's hurting you more than anything."

"Seriously though. If y'all gonna be together after college, then just be together and figure it out. But if he's confused or gonna leave you, he might as well just do it now. What's the point of waiting in the gray just to be hurt worse?" Malia asks. "At least you'll have time to heal and come to terms with it before it happens, you know?"

Taija nods as she sits on the couch. Her face mask is almost finished drying up as she sits with an unreadable expression on her face.

"I love him. I just-. I'm tired of this shit. He does little things to keep me at a distance but doesn't want me to leave him alone. Like he wants to avoid the emotions involved so he's distracting himself but doesn't want to completely like... detach? I don't know. This shit so dumb."

"Leave him." Camryn says as she shrugs. All the women look at her and she looks back at them individually.

"I'm serious. He's being selfish while still getting what he wants. You're confused and getting hurt. He's either ignoring it or really doesn't see it. Either way, it's a problem. Since he's so conflicted about whether or not he wants to be with you, make the decision for him. Let his ass be without you for real and see if he's still bout that shit. All the access he's getting, dead it."

"Maybe she's right." Rachel says as she thinks. "This will show you where his head is for real too though. If he's without you and he's good, then you'll have your final answer. Shit might hurt but you'll be able to at least start to heal."

"Mhm." Malia hums in agreement. "You guys might need to have a sit down type of talk."

Taija inhales deeply and sighs. "Yeah I know. I will when we have time and I'm not feeling overwhelmed. Probably during Thanksgiving break. That'll be the most reasonable time."

She has no more tears to cry over the situation. She's just hurt and ready for the decision to be made. Whether she makes it or he makes it for her, something has to give. This is getting to be exhausting and she has enough things to worry about without him adding extra to it.

"Can we peel these things off our face now?" Rachel asks. "My face is starting to feel hard. Like past the point of dry, hard."

Kaia laughs. "Yeah, mine too."

"I think we can take them off now. It's been fifteen minutes anyway." Camryn says as she reads the bottle. It's a black charcoal mask for pores and deep cleansing.

They all peel their masks off and then rinse their faces off. Patting them dry with towels, they can see the difference in their skin.

"Oh, I'm glowing." Kaia says as she looks in the mirror. "Where you get this from?" She asks Rachel.
