The day of the Thanksgiving celebration is a busy one. Last minute errands are being run, a lot of cooking and plan making is happening. And Malia is being questioned out the ass about her wrist. She's told the story three times now. Once to her parents, once to Janae and Xavier and once to Mrs. Kim.

They're all relieved that it's just a sprain but her mom still lightly scolded her about reaching over her head for things. She could have been seriously injured and she doesn't want to see her that way.

Malia been rather quiet since then. So much so, that it's worrying Namjoon and her mother. As they all are dispersed around his mother's house, he watches her read her book, unable to help with much else.

He's starting the dishwasher when Mr. Ward taps him on the shoulder. He looks up at him and his heart thuds.

"Come talk to me for a minute, Joonbug."

Namjoon closes the dishwasher and starts it before following Mr. Ward to the back porch. He puts his hands in his pockets and stands there awkwardly, not sure of what's sparked the need for conversation. Well, he has an idea but he's not sure if Malia's said anything.

"What's going on with you and Malia? Why y'all being so quiet and out the way? Now I know my baby. And she ain't want to keep away from you over the summer so what's going on?"

Namjoon gulps as he looks at the ground. He bites the inside of his cheek as he takes in a deep breath. How is he going to tell his girlfriend's father that he thought she was pregnant? And how he reacted? How is he going to explain that? How does he properly explain any of this to him? He doesn't really have words... just feelings.

"I, uh..." he inhaled deeply before sighing. "Malia and I got into an argument yesterday. My mom called her her daughter in law and I told her that we were too young to have those thoughts in our heads. And Malia took that as me having a fear of commitment and I never said that. I just said that I don't think we should be thinking about marriage and kids at 19 and 20."

"Kids?" Mr. Ward raises his eyebrows as he crosses his arms.

"..yeah." Namjoon and mentally scolds himself for bringing that up.

"Why would that be a thought in the first place? Y'all got something y'all need to tell me?"

"No." Namjoon says it quick and with wide eyes. "That's not.. I thought maybe.. but not.. No." His nervousness about this entire conversation causes him to ramble and stumble on his words.

"Relax and just talk to me, Namjoon. I know I'm her father but we can just man to man right now. You got a lot going on in your head, it seems like." Mr. Ward sits in one of the chairs and Joon sits as well.

"I love Malia." He starts. "But I just don't think that right now, we should be thinking about such.. like.. serious things. I guess. And that's not to say that I don't want to marry her. I've never said that. I just, I haven't thought that far as an actual conversation to have."

"And the kids part?" Mr. Ward doubles back. He's listening to Namjoon. He still wants to know why that was brought up, though.

"Before we left campus, I found pregnancy tests in her garbage. They were positive but they're not hers."

Mr. Ward narrows his eyes at the young man. A lot of things go through his head.

Number one being why he would think that they were in the first place. Especially positive ones. He knows, or assumes rather, that they're sexually intimate. He wasn't born yesterday and he knows that he damn sure wasn't a 20 year old virgin. Definitely wasn't a 19 year old one, either.
