XI: Did I Mention?

"Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention please? There's something I'd like to say"

Confused was the word I felt as I continued eyeing the boy, who looked at everyone around him. Ben hasn't told me that he was about to announce anything after the game. I look at the crowd as the crowd murmur at the person beside them, confused as well

"Give me an 'M'!" Ben voice got my attention back to him, he brought his hands to the top of his head to form the letter with his body

"M!'" Everyone yelled doing the same thing Ben is doing, except me as I was still confused looking around around wondering what's going on

"Give me an 'A'!"
"'A'!"
"Give me an 'L'!"
"'L'"
"What's that spell?"
"Mal!"

I covered my mouth with my hands, stunned, I looked over to the crowd searching for the Purplenette, once my eyes spotted her, I saw the confusing and shock in her face as well at what Ben's doing

"Come on, I can't hear you"
"Mal!"

"I love you, Mal. Did I mention that?" Declared Ben, his voice was loud and clear onto the microphone. I couldn't help but shake my head in second-hand embarrassment as I look between the Son of Belle and Beast and Daughter of Maleficent. I heard a quiet whimper beside me.

I turned around seeing Audrey run out the field to the girls locker room. I should go after her, she is my sister after all. The crowd cheered at Ben's words as they turned to the still shocked Mal, who eyes are almost out of her socket

Ben turned to the Band, "Give me a beat!"

"Unos, dos, tres, cuatro!" I heard Doug yell out then the band started playing a unfamiliar beat. I turned around and made my way towards where Audrey went, to the the girls locker room. I pushed the door open and silently closed it behind me muffling the band and singing from Ben. I stood still listening in and immediately heard my sister cries on my left

I slowly walked towards the cried, I poke my head around the corner seeing Audrey crying in her hand, "Audrey?" I called out, slightly startling the girl, she harshly brush away her tears "What?" She snarled not turning towards me "Stupid to ask but, are you okay?" I asked, mentally slapping myself

"What do you care?" She said crossing her arms still not turning around, I slowly made my way closer towards and sat down the bench she's sitting on "Well, I am your sister after all" I said softly looking down at my hands "So?"

"Meaning I'm here for you. Even though your horrible towards me. Anyways enough of me, let's talk about you" I said turning towards her, she finally turned her body to me as well. I stayed quiet looking at her, Audrey looked at me since I wasn't speaking "What?" She spit out shaking her head "I'm waiting for you to rant out to me" I explained to her, I went to grab her hand but she pulled away. I pulled my hands towards myself and looked down "I don't want to talk about it" Audrey spoke up playing with her rings. This is useless

"Oh, well um, I'll be going then" I apprised "You can talk to me when your ready. Okay?"

Audrey just nodded, I let out huff stiffly turned around and walked out immediately closing my eyes as the sun shined bright right in my eyes. I put my hands on my forehead covering the sun from my eyes and looked to the field. I see Ben's not in the field anymore but on the bleachers as people carried him towards Mal

I made my way back with the other cheerleaders "Hey" I heard a familiar voice beside me, I turned my head seeing Carlos "Hi" I smiled at him, but my smile didn't reach to my eyes "You alright?" He asked, I heard the concerned in his voice. I just hummed and nodded at him watching Ben leaning towards Mal but she blocked him with his Jersey shirt

"I'm fine" I said out loud, I looked at his side profile as he watched the scene before him. His features were soft, I love his freckles one of my favorite things of him. And his smile and how bright his eyes shine at things he loves. I quickly turned around, looking at the ground, once I saw him turn his head towards me, I felt heat rushing to my face as I felt him continued to stare at me. I side eyed him still seeing him looking towards me. But the voice of sister caught our attention to the crowd

"Chad's my boyfriend now!" Audrey apprised to the school wrapping her arm around the Cinderella boy shoulder "And I'm going to the coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date"

I collectively cringed as Audrey made her point crystal clear as she kissed Chad "She was just crying a minute ago" I told myself, covering my mouth while shaking my head, although The Soon-to-be-king didn't seem bothered at all as he took the microphone back from Audrey, grinning brightly at Mal

"Mal! Will you go to the Coronation with me?"

Mal leaned towards the microphone, "Yes!"

"She said yes!" Repeated Ben as if the crowd haven't heard her, still the crowd cheered for the newly couple as Audrey groaned pushing Chad away and he followed behind her like a lost puppy. I still clapped and cheered the new couple on the crowd, kind of liking the new change here in Auradon prep.

Audrey already found someone, who always wanted her attention and now he got it. Worried for Evie knowingly how much the girl liked the Cinderella kid, she still admired how Ben looked at Mal

She never seen Ben look at Audrey that way ever since they been together. It made me happy for him. They looked together even and probably are good for each other, in her opinion. In the back of my mind, I wished and hoped some day someone would look at her the way Ben looked at Mal.

"What a victory. What a day for Auradon knights, finally back the trophy after so many years" The announcer voice rang out again onto the microphone after Jay brought Ben back to the field "And there he is. Jay, the most valuable player!"

I let out a cheer along with the rest of the crowd, my eyes were still set at Carlos. I watched him as his eyes landing with mine. I gave him a bright smile and he gave one back at me
