|Paul's POV|

Getting the call from Bash about Rory being in an accident was the last thing I expected to hear today. I'm trusting and praying she's fine. We need to get there. Usually it'd take an hour to get to New York, but I know it'll be a little longer with traffic.

I went to Steph's office to let her know we had to leave. Her secretary told me she was in a meeting. I bypassed that, going to the conference room. I opened the door and everyone looked my way. Steph knew by the look on my face something was up.

"Sorry, I am going to leave this meeting early. Please continue and email me any updates."

Nothing else was said as she grabbed her things, leaving the room. As we got in the hallway, her line of questioning began.

"What's going on?"

"Rory's been in an accident."

She stopped dead in her tracks.

"What?" she whispered.

"Bash got a call that there was an accident. She's at NYU. The detectives called to inform him. Said she's stable. That's all I know right now."

She nodded.

"I'll call Shane. He'll get there before us."

"I'll meet you out front."

On my way to the parking lot, I called my dad. I needed him and my mom to check in on Murphy and Vaughn.

Hey, son.

Hey, dad. I need a favor.

You name it.

Steph and I have to go to New York. Could you and mom look in on the girls?

Of course, is everything alright?

Rory was in an accident. I don't know the full details. Please don't tell mom or the girls until we do.

Alright. You drive safe and keep me posted.

I will.

Love you, son.

Love you too, dad.

As I pulled the car around, Steph was waiting, phone glued to her ear. She got in and I heard the tail end of her conversation.

Alright. Call me as soon as you know something. It's okay, sweetie. I know you do. We'll be there as soon as we can. Thank you. Bye.

"Bash?"

"Yeah. I called to check on him. He's almost there. He told me he's sorry. He feels like this is his fault."

"I know he does, but it's not."

"How long until we get there?" she asked.

"With traffic, about 2 hours."

She nodded and we rode with the music softly playing in the background. We were about halfway there when Steph got a call.

"It's Bash."

Hello. Hi, sweetie. We're about halfway there. Uh huh, okay. Alright, that's good news. They did? Well, next time you won't be talking to them without a lawyer present. Alright. We'll see you soon. Bye.

"Rory has a broken arm and a concussion. Everything else looks fine. Detectives said it was a hit and run. She was driving when she was rear ended from behind causing her to veer off the road and into a pole. That impact set off the airbag. I'm sure that's what caused the concussion."
