|Paul's POV|
I was in my office, working when my secretary let me know that my beautiful wife wanted to see me. Steph entered a few moments later.
"Hey, handsome," she stated, taking a seat.
"Hey to you, too. Thought you'd be wrapped up in a meeting."
"I took the afternoon off and will be briefed afterwards with any follow-up. I'm going to head home and see what Vaughn is up too," she stated.
I nodded.
"Well, look at you delegating."
She laughed.
"A wise man helped me learn balance."
"A wise man, indeed," I added.
"What's your plan for the rest of the afternoon? I thought you were heading home early?"
"I spoke to Vaughn. She said she's fine. I had her lunch delivered."
"What'd you get her?" she asked, raising her brow.
"A salad."
She started laughing.
"Vaughn hates salads."
"I know, that's why I got it. She needs to eat more salads anyway. I know she's young and her metabolism is high, but with how she works out, she needs better nutrients in her diet. Cheeseburgers and fries aren't going to cut it."
"I agree," she replied with a nod.
"I'll be home shortly after you. I'm wrapping up here."
She stood up as I did the same. She came around to my side of the desk, planting a kiss on my lips.
"Love you," she said.
"Love you, more."
Giving me one more peck, she left and I got back to work. After a couple hours, I headed home and it was quiet. I went to the kitchen, nothing. I knocked on Vaughn's door and she softly said come in. Yup, something was up.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
"Fine."
Fine is never actually "fine" in this family.
"What happened?" I quizzed.
"I'm in trouble with mommy."
I raised my brow.
"You going to tell me what happened?"
"You're going to be mad," she quickly replied.
Once she said that, I already knew it was something serious. With Vaughn, that could be anything.
"I'm going to go change and then I'll be back."
She nodded. I didn't press the issue any further. Going into my bedroom, I saw Steph laying down and she had a glass of wine. I chuckled.
"Oh you broke out the wine."
She looked at me and rolled her eyes.
"You talk to Vaughn yet?"
"I came to change, but I will. What happened?"
"She was on the phone with Bash talking about a fight club. You know, she told me she was actually considering doing something stupid like that?!"
I stopped what I was doing and stared at her.
"She what?"
"Fight club, Paul. A fight club."
