March 24th - Prompt: Beautiful

------------

"Lucy..." Susan trailed off, shocked at what her sister had just told her.

"I know it was silly, I know now," Lucy murmered, shrugging a little. "But back then it was... different."

Susan took a deep breath. "Okay Lu, listen." She said slowly and gently. "You - You are beautiful. You are who you are, you're beautiful in appearance, and you have a beautiful heart too, and at the end of the day it's what's inside that matters."

"I know." Lucy said with a nod. "I've always known that, I was just - going through a hard time is all, with you in America, and us stuck with Eustace in Cambridge..."

"That's totally understandable." Susan said with a small, soft smile. "And if you could've come to America I would've wanted nothing more..." She paused and smirked. "But, as I hear, if you had come, you might not of ended up in Narnia."

Lucy chuckled quietly. "I guess that's true." She murmered.

Susan's smirk slowly faded back into the soft smile, and she wrapped an arm around her younger sisters shoulders. "You had a good time then?" She asked.

Lucy nodded, glancing up at her. "It would've been better if you were there though." She said sincerely.

Susan chuckled. "You know I can't go back." She told her.

"Neither can I." Lucy choked.

Susan sighed. "It gets easier over time Lu." She told her. "I'm not gonna say the pain ever goes away, but it gets easier to cope with, Peter was the same, it took a while for him to come round, and I reckon Edmund more than helped him, and I have no doubt Peter's now doing the same with Ed, so that's what I'm gonna do for you, I'm gonna help you through this."

Lucy gave her sister a grateful smile. "Thanks Susan." She breathed.

Susan placed a kiss to the top of her head. "No need to thank me." She said. "Now come on, what do you say we bake some cookies?"

"Sounds fun." Lucy agreed. "What type?"

"Hmmm, chocolate chip?" Susan suggested.

Lucy nodded. "We gonna add cinnamon?" She grinned. "I'm sure Peter would be happy if we did."

Susan smirked. "I'm sure he would." She said, standing. "Come on."

Lucy stood with her, and she quickly hugged her sister. "Seriously." She whispered. "Thank you."

Susan smiled, wrapping her arms gently around Lucy's shoulders. "You're welcome."
