June 11th - Prompt: Somebody to you

----------

"I wanna be somebody to someone."

"Ed?"

Edmund hesitated from where he was hiding under his bed, biting his lip.

"You in here?"

He stayed quiet.

Susan sighed. "I'm sure Peter didn't mean it." She tried.

Edmund barely kept back a snort, course he did, he'd said it, and he'd meant it.

"I know you're in here." Susan said suddenly. "Look, we're all stressed about everything okay, you're making this no easier."

Edmund glared, why was he the one who always got the blame? Peter had been the one to snap at him, he'd only made a little joke and Peter had told him to grow up, that was hardly fair in his mind.

"You have a family to think about Ed." Susan said after a while, almost as though she could read his thoughts "This isn't all about you."

Edmund listened to the retreating footsteps, before sighing.

Yes he had a family, but at this moment in time it didn't seem like any of them actually liked him.

Lucy was upset with him.

Susan was annoyed with him.

And Peter was mad at him.

He found himself wishing he was just loved, he knew deep down he didn't make it easy, but he also knew deep down that all he needed was for someone to just pull him into a tight hug, tell him everything was gonna be fine, and never let go.

He swallowed hard, he'd never be somebody to someone, not even his own siblings, he'd pushed them away so much that they all hated him, in his mind anyway.

With another sigh he slid out from under the bed and instead lay on top, staring at the ceiling.

"Why are you telling me off!?"

Edmund glanced towards the door at the voices in the hallway.

"Ed was the one being childish." Peter said.

"You didn't need to snap at him like that though." Susan replied. "You're both to blame here."

"Edmund more so than me."

Edmund swallowed hard at Peter's muttered reply, rolling onto his side and glaring at the wall, of course his brother would put the blame on him, he always did.

But five minutes later, when he found a tear rolling down his cheek, he brushed it angrily away, because why on earth was he crying after all?

But he knew deep down why, even if he couldn't admit it to himself...

He just wanted to be loved.
