June 8th - Prompt: Kings

------------

"Are you sure you're okay with this?"

Edmund glanced up, lowering his hand from where he'd been rubbing his eye, giving Peter a small nod. "Yeah I'll be okay." He breathed.

Peter stared at him. "You didn't sleep much last night did you?" He sighed.

Edmund shrugged. "I was reading." He told him.

Peter bit his lip, he knew Edmund hadn't wanted to sleep, but didn't bring it up, and turned when he heard footsteps.

Susan and Lucy joined them by the door, Lucy grinning from ear to ear and wrapped in a fluffy cloak.

"You ready?" Peter asked with a small smile.

Lucy nodded enthusiasticly. "I can't wait." She said. "It sounds so much fun."

"A winter feast does sound like a nice idea." Susan added. "The Narnians have a day to celebrate a natural winter, the first one in over a hundred years."

"I love the idea." Lucy agreed. "And there'll be lots of food and snow and fun."

Peter chuckled at her childlike excitement. "Well, we should head out then." He said.

The four stood side by side, and the doors were opened for them to step outside.

Peter glanced around, and he had to admit the sight was extremely beautiful.

There was a large gazebo covering a table that could seat at least a hundred people, winding around the garden, laid with so many different foods Peter didn't even know what some of it was. Snow covered the ground, crisp, white snow. It wasn't snowing at that moment, but it had snowed the day and night before, covering the surrounding area and leaving not a spec of green showing.

White and silver bunting and table covers were everywhere, hanging from the gazebo and laying the table, and it would seem they'd covered a bunch of stuff in silver glitter, which shined in the winter sun.

The sky was clear and blue, and the sun was bright, and though it wasn't giving off much heat, Peter didn't mind, he was nice and warm in his cloak.

The people already gathered turned to acknowledge and bow to their Kings and Queens, before the party itself began.

Lucy rushed off to have a look around, the grin still on her face, and Susan wondered over to make conversation with a group of centaurs.

Peter turned slowly to his brother, who was currently staring at the snow, before he took a deep breath and wondered off, going to get himself a drink.

Peter, after a moment, followed him, and after many nods and smiles he reached the drinks table, seeing Edmund clearly deciding what to have.

"You can have a drink drink if you want." Peter told him.

Edmund glanced up, raising an eyebrow. "You're letting me have alcohol?" He muttered.

"Just a bit." Peter said quickly. "But you can have a glass if you want to."

Edmund shrugged a little. "Maybe." He murmured.
