February 19th - Prompt: Let's go fly a kite
----------------
"Come on Peter!" Edmund exclaimed. "It's windy enough!"
"And you also have homework to do." Peter pointed out, nodding down at the book Edmund had on the table in front of him.
Edmund rolled his eyes and groaned dramatically. "I've been doing homework for ages!" He grumbled.
"It has to be handed in tomorrow." Peter told him.
"I'll finish it tonight before I go to bed." Edmund replied. "I promise."
Peter sighed, shaking his head. "Mum told you to finish I this afternoon." He said.
"But it might not be this windy again for ages!" Edmund exclaimed.
Peter stared at him, stared at his eyes which was a very bad idea. "Fine." He grumbled. "But if Mum gets home later and tries to tell me off, you're taking the entire blame."
Edmund nodded immediately. "Course." He breathed.
"Go find the kite then." Peter told him. "I'll let Dad know."
Edmund beamed, rushing off to find the kite before grabbing his coat and flinging it on. "Come on, before the wind disappears." He said.
Peter chuckled, pulling his own coat on. "The wind isn't going to die down anytime soon." He reassured him, before opening the front door.
The two headed down to the park, where Edmund immediately untangled the kite string and flew it up in the air.
The wind instantly picked it up, and Peter grabbed Edmund's hands to steady him.
"I'm not going to fly away." Edmund laughed.
Peter rolled his eyes. "I know that." He muttered. "I'll just make sure you don't let go of it, cause you'll be upset if you do."
"I won't let go." Edmund told him, before looking up at the flying kite.
"Aren't your hands cold?" Peter asked after a while. "I know mine are."
Edmund shrugged, adjusting his grip on the string. "A little." He said. "But this is fun."
Peter smiled at the pure childlike grin on his little brother's face, and after at least ten, maybe fifteen minutes he almost regretted saying they should head home.
"Why?" Edmund all but groaned, he really was enjoying himself.
"Because its getting cold and we should be back before Mum." Peter told him.
Edmund frowned, not looking happy.
"Come on, let's go home and ill make some hot chocolate to warm us both up." Peter told him.
This definitely cheered him up, for he nodded quickly and attempted to pull the kite down. Peter had to help him in the end but they eventually got it on the ground, before they headed for home.
"Worth it?" Peter asked, rubbing his cold hands together to try and warm them up.
Edmund nodded. "Yeah." He breathed. "Thanks."
Peter smiled. "You better do your homework later though." He said firmly.
Edmund rolled his eyes, but he laughed as well. "Don't worry." He said. "I will."
