February 6th - Prompt: Strength
----------
"Who did this to you?"
Edmund flinched slightly as Peter placed a damp cloth to the cut on his lip, very aware of the bruise covering half of his face too. "Those kids I used to hang around with before Narnia." He muttered.
Peter frowned. "Your friends?" He murmured.
Edmund snorted. "Old friends." He corrected.
Peter was silent for a moment or two, finishing cleaning the cut before asking: "Why?"
Edmund sighed. "I told them I didn't wanna hang around with them anymore, not if all they're gonna be doing is bullying other kids." He said quietly. "I guess they didn't like that."
Peter gave him a sad smile. "I'm glad you stood up to them, and finally ended that friendship."
Edmund smirked. "I know, you told me so many times not to get involved with them." He said gently. "But I didn't listen, I was a horrible person when I was around them, and I won't let that happen again."
Peter smiled at him, nodding before glancing at the bruise. "Whoever hit you must've had some strength." He grumbled. "That looks nasty."
"Oh yeah, he's strong alright." Edmund grumbled. "Hurts like hell too. And its gonna be there for a while which is just perfect."
Peter gave him a sympathetic look, pressing the cloth back to his brother's lip when it started bleeding again. "You'll live." He breathed.
Edmund nodded, forcing a grin although immediately relaxing his face when it hurt too much. "Course I will." He said.
Peter nodded, before taking a deep breath and sitting up straight
"Peter no."
"I haven't even said anything yet!" Peter defended.
"You don't need to say anything." Edmund said. "Just leave them be, they'll start ignoring me eventually."
"Or they'll continue picking on you." Peter argued, sounding worried.
Edmund rolled his eyes. "I'll just avoid them." He said with a shrug.
Peter raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you try that with the group who used to bully you?" He asked. "And it didn't work."
"I can slip past people a lot easier than I used to." Edmund reminded him. "I can avoid someone if I want to."
Peter sighed. "Alright." He breathed. "But if they do anything like this again, I will be having a word with them."
Edmund bit his lip as Peter nodded at the bruise, but nodded his head. "Alright." He sighed. "But other than that, just ignore them, and I'll do the same."
"And if they hit you again, hit 'em back." Peter grinned.
"Peter." Edmund chuckled.
Peter laughed. "I'm joking." He told him, shaking his head I amusement. "Although I bet you have more strength than all of them put together."
Edmund raised an eyebrow, chuckling before sighing. "I highly doubt that." He muttered.
Peter shrugged. "You're still strong though." He teased.
"Although unfortunately not as strong as you." Edmund muttered bitterly, but he was clearly messing around.
Peter grinned. "And you never will be." He said firmly.
Edmund smirked. "We'll see about that."
