Surgery day 🤕

Lynd's pov
I'm the first to wake up so I have a cereal bar and a cup of water before mason wakes up so I'm not eating in front of him since he won't be allowed to eat now until after his surgery so once I'd finished my cereal bar I had a few pieces of chewing gum and I decided to text grace to update her on how mase is doing while I'm waiting for mason to wake up and the nurse then comes in so I nudged mase . Hey masey time to wake up baby the nurse is here and mason begins to stir he stretches Huhh and the nurse says good morning mason the doctor will be around in an hour to tell you what time your going into theatre and he'll answer any questions about the operation that you may have ok and I say thank you nurse and she leaves the room and mason says to me hey baby how'd you sleep I cant thank you enough for staying with me and I say your welcome baby there was no chance i was leaving you I'd have slept outside your room if I had too I've taken on paramedics I ain't afraid to challenge nurses and doctors too if they stand in my way . Aww baby never change my favourite little firework he says and we cuddle up together mason then turns to me and says baby Im going to try to get some more sleep so can you update mum please baby I say through a yawn. Yes darling you get as much rest as you can the more you rest the quicker recovery will be okay and mason then falls asleep against my shoulder and I begin typing on my phone and after what feels like someone's pressed fast forward on time I had to start waking mase up as the surgeon comes in and says hi I'm dr pryce I'll be the one performing your surgery today and what's going to happen is you'll be taken to theatre and then the anaesthetist will come and chat with you and your then placed under the anaesthetic and we will do the surgery and then we'll take you through to recovery to make sure your not reacting to the anaesthetic and then we will re X-ray once that's done you'll be brought back up to the ward until your discharged when we feel is best okay any questions I shake my head alright I'll see you later on try relax it will be over and done before you know it and the doctor leaves the room and lynds says give me your band baby and She wrote LNM on one side and drew a heart so I'll be there in theatre with you no matter what she tells me .just like I'll be here when you get back and just like I'll be with you all the time I owe you to be fair and soon enough the porters came to take mase down to theatre so I walked beside masons bed and held his hand the entire way stroking the back of it and occasionally giving a light reassuring squeeze and before we know it we are at the operating theatre and I say a final good luck baby I'll see you soon I promise I'll be sat outside okay I promise I won't leave you and I sit in the chairs outside and I hear mason crying and asking for me and I just feel like crying myself as I'm legally not allowed in to the theatre I try to distract my self by texting everyone an update on mase and try to think of as many things as I can to pass the time as quickly as possible and I try to close my eyes and get a bit of sleep but it doesn't help about half an hour later the theatre doors open and dr Payne comes out and says the surgery was textbook and masons on his way up to get his X-ray done and then he'll head over to recovery to sleep off the anaesthetic and then once he's all recovered and eating and drinking he'll be coming home Aww thank you so much for everything dr Payne we all really appreciate it and with that I text everyone to say masons out of theatre and heading to the recovery bays which is where I head and I'm greeted by a nurse who's saw Mason earlier and she told me he obviously cares deeply about you as he wanted us to look after you and not let anything happen to you as he'd never forgive him self and he promised he wouldn't leave you and my heart just filled with love and tears pricked in my eyes aww he's the best I say and the nurse says I shouldn't really do this but go and sit with him I'm sure he'll be glad to see you and she walks me over to the bed where mason was laying with a frame over his plastered ankle I let out the breaths I'd been holding on to and the nurse just rubs my shoulder and begins doing a few post op checks on mason and then walks away and I feel masons hand that's in mine gently squeeze against mine and shortly after a croaky hi baby from him I'm looking into the very glassy eyes of my beloved boyfriend hiya baby good sleep I ask and he Says yeah I dreamt that my best friend became my girlfriend and I fall in love with her more and more every day and I can't imagine a life without her oh hang on my dreams come true aww mase I couldn't love you anymore if I tried and the nurse comes back over hiya mason you feeling okay and he nods I'm feeling really good thanks miss I'd love a cup of water and a biscuit though mason says aww that's absolutely fantastic I'll go and get you a cup and some biscuits sweet and she comes back 10 minutes later with a jug of water and some juice see how you do with that and then you can go back to a normal ward for discharge and we both say thank you just take little sips mase I tell him re hydrate your throat and mase took the small sips and ate a few biscuits ahh he says that horrible taste has gone yeah that bits horrible how's the pain baby it's okay just uncomfortable at the moment I can't wait to get an all blue plaster though want it to match my kits.Typical you ehh mase straight outta the theatre and already talking about football but can't wait to see you doing what you love again babe and then mase is taken back to the ward and I texted everyone to let them know how mase was (grace👑) hiya mum mase is awake and recovering nicely and already talking about getting a blue plaster to match his football kits 🤦‍♀️(lynds❤️) typical mase glad he's okay I'll be up to get you soon missing my baby boy and future daughter (grace👑) aww bless we can't wait to be home either. I turn to a laughing mason and say Hey babe mum will be up in a few and what's got you laughing mason replied oh I just thought I'd update dec on how I'm doing and I told him even when I was recovering from the anaesthetic I was still higher than West Ham and I couldn't hold back the laughter ooo that's a good one babe and soon grace arrived and we both said hi mum and grace hugged us both and once the doctor had done all the checks and booked masons next few appointments and gave mase his crutches and we headed home and Nikki was the first to welcome us all back hey baby bro good to have you home I would say in one piece and Blake gurgles to mase and me and Lottie comes in welcome home little bro and gives him a hug and Ryan say yo bro one way to build up your other foot glad nothing to major tho and grace did us all a salad and then me and mase headed up to bed and after a kiss and a cuddle we were soon asleep
