I could hear noises coming from Nikki's room so I went to find out what was wrong I knocked on her door and she was on her bed rocking and swaying her hips hey nik what's up masey I think the baby is coming she says while scrunching her duvet coming where I ask with confusion mason I think I'm in labour as I'm having contractions and my waters have gone . Oh okay right I'll get you a towel and some water and ice cubes do you want anything put on while I call your midwife and Andrew.umm just put my music on shuffle love and thank you . Your welcome I'll be back as quickly as I can and I went Down and got all I needed and rang Nikki's midwife and left Andrew a voicemail message to ring back urgently and headed back upstairs to Nikki i gently tapped her door to let her know I was back hey nik not the best thing to ask but how are you doing. I'm ok and then she stops due to a contraction they're definitely getting stronger and closer together though . Aww I'm sorry I've tried calling Andrew but it's going to voicemail and the midwife will call back in 30 minutes to see how things are going but I've got you ice chips and a cold flannel do you want a massage or anything I ask just hold my hand bro please ugggh this really hurts she says falling back on her mattress  going rather red so I take this opportunity to open her window slightly and place the flannel on her brow and I help her to have a drink of water and I try and call Andrew again but again voicemail uhh trust him to have a course booked near my due date his bloody boss is a dickhead all men are pricks she says clawing the mattress so I just mop her brow again and rub her back for her then her midwife rings and says she's on her way and Nikki yells good just get here now I just offer her some more ice and say to her your doing so well nikki you really are incredible I'm going to tell this baby every waking moment how amazing you are being.Thanks mase means a lot she screamed at me and then our door knocks I think that's your midwife I'll go check and at the door my thoughts are confirmed I go and let her in and show her to Nikki. Right nikki when was your last contraction 2 minutes ago and I can feel another one on the way. Right okay once that one finishes let me know and I'll see how far you've dilated ok Nikki grunts a response and her midwife asks and who are you young man . Im mason miss im Nikki's youngest brother and uncle to be is there anything I can do. Yes please can you go and freshen up Nikki's flannel and get her some more water and a few more towels the largest ones that you've got so we can put them down to protect your sisters bed there's a good lad.Nikki will you be okay as i look for reassurance from her I'll be as quick as I can promise i say mase go it's okay honestly nikki breathes out her response mason she will be fine I'll be with her the whole time the midwife tells me and i run downstairs and get all that's needed and head back up and sit back next to Nikki and her midwife says right Nikki save some of that energy as now it's time to meet your baby so when you next get a contraction I want you to push as hard as you can okay Nikki gets comfortable and nods okay I mop her brow with the flannel and tell her go on Nikki you've got this .and Nikki takes my free hand to hold and begins pushing and her midwife says good job keep that up loads more like that and remember in between contractions focus on your breathing and getting as much oxygen in your body as you can for me okay and Nikki takes a few deep long breaths and pushes again and her midwife says good girl thats really good and again and Nikki does as she's told and this goes on for five minutes well done nikki I can see the head now i want big strong pushing now ok and Nikki nods and pushes some more and her midwife says good girl that's the head out next few well have the shoulders and Nikki takes a big breath in and continues to push and thats the shoulders final few and we will be done okay and Nikki says oh goodie and goes back to pushing and then the next thing we hear is the cry's of Nikki's newborn congratulations lovely lady it's a boy and Nikki's handed her new son and I kiss her temple congratulations nik you were fabulous and i give her a tight hug . Thanks mase So were you I'm Proud of you . And Nikki's midwife says right does this young man have a name yeah he's Called Blake ok welcome to the world Blake and congratulations to you mum and congratulations to you uncle you did brilliantly .thank you I say and help her out and head back up to nikki hey sis Andrew says he's so sorry he couldn't FaceTime you but he says he loves you both so much and he's so happy and can't wait to get back home and mum well mum just cried but she is very proud of us and can't wait to see you both thanks mase and since your uncle and you played an important role in today's event you can announce it to lynds aww really thank you and i went and text lynds immediately (brownie🤎) hey baby girl guess what happened today I got promoted to uncle mason as Nikki's just had her baby and it's a boy he's called Blake and I was there through it all nikki was amazing it was all amazing I love you so much baby girl I can't wait for Blake to meet the most important thing in my life and the best auntie ever 🥰😍 M xxx and within a few minutes I'm alerted to a text (masetro💙) heya baby aww congratulations mummy nikki and congratulations uncle mase and aww Blake is such a cute name and well done for being there for Nikki I'm ridiculously proud of you babe that was a beautiful thing you've done can't wait to meet him i love you too baby Blake is beyond lucky to have his uncle mason L xxx I go back into Nikki's room hey nikk I've made you a cuppa and got you some biscuits ugh masey you god send thanks buddy I'm just going to enjoy this now I won't feel sick all the time or need the loo every few seconds while I'm having my tea would you like to hold your nephew. I gasp can I what if I hurt him or do something wrong mase it's ok just sit as you are and I'll pass him to you and then Nikki places Blake in my arms heya Blake welcome to the world I'm your uncle mason i won't mind if you call me uncle mase I can't wait for you to meet my girlfriend Lyndsey oh Blake she's the most beautiful,amazingly kind and talented girl I think I love her more and more every day she makes me so proud and she's ridiculously strong I couldn't of asked for a better role model for you I hope one day you'll find your own Lyndsey because nothing else compares to her good luck Blake this family's a good one .I look down and Blake's sound asleep .
