Well the very morning I had been building up for during my training was here my first full match back after my paternity leave and my mental health leave and although I'd played The match for the academy team and I was excited to play in that match it definitely didn't compare to getting ready for this match I couldn't wait to get back into my kit and back out on to the pitch again I give my body a few minutes to adjust to being awake and stretch my arms in front of me and I hear my phone buzz gently against the wood of my bedside table letting me know I had a text message and I picked my and we eat our pancakes and then I head into the shower and when I'm done I change into my Chelsea tracksuit and I take mine and Lynds's dishes downstairs and I get bree out of her cot and get her dressed and she giggled and claps and I say ohh is that funny is it bree and she laughed more she was growing up so quickly and she was looking more like lynd's each and every day and when she was dressed I then gave her her breakfast and she had that and then I packed her bag ready and lynd's reappeared wearing my match shirt and leggings and trainers and i packed my fresh top and joggers and wash stuff and when everything was sorted lynds put bree in the car and came in and took me by the hands and said right gorgeous are you ready and I grabbed her and kissed her deeply and said I am now say yeah you will indeed and we head off to the bridge to get ready and get on the coach and when we arrive lynds parks up and we head inside and i immediately see Kai and he says mase hey bro please tell me you packed extra snacks soph fed my snacks to the herd this morning by accident and im starving and lynds says don't worry Kai got you covered and yes I've packed extra snacks for you both pitch today I'm so proud of you unless you get your ass red carded then I'm smacking it myself and making sure you don't get any desert after tea and I say thanks boss I've got a good feeling about this one and I'll try my hardest to behave and Frank smiles and says the day you behave mase is a day that should be noted down in history with a light laugh and then begins chatting with lynds and soon enough we arrive at the grounds and I feel like I'd never been away and we all went in and changed in to our kits and our pre match top and we warm up and it was feeling nice to be doing proper warm ups again and when we were done we were all called in and given a final check over and then Frank said now that's far better seeing you in your kit again mase but I believe I gave you a promotion and a promise and your kits not fully complete yet is it and Frank pulls out and revealed a blue box and he then opened it and it was the captain's armband and I smiled and Frank said right it's official now mase this is is your first official captain match and I promised you I'd put the band on you so you ready and I nod and say I'm ready and Frank slides the armband up on to my bicep and pats my shoulder and Frank whispers just breathe and forget where you are and just focus on what you want and need from the team I'm on the sidelines should you need me but I know you'll be fine I promise you mase and I say I'll make you proud I promise you boss and Frank says you already have mase your stood here and soon enough we're instructed to walk out and Frank says take your team out captain mason and we do exactly that and when we're all Announced me and the Southampton captain shake hands and then we take our starting positions and the match begins and we immediately gain possession of the ball and start off strong and i receive the ball and I take a quick breath and shoot and the ball hits the net and I'm engulfed by all my teammates and then I spot mum and everyone who yelled yes mase you beauty and i kiss my badge and i hear Frank yell get in there really loudly and then we carry on with the game and Southampton become more aggressive and one of their players stamp on Billy's leg and he yells out and I rush over and billy said it hurts mason it really hurts and I say i know bills try and keep your leg still yeah and the ref comes over and says what happened and I say as calmly as possible the Southampton player stamped on Billy's leg to block his pass to me so It was an unnecessary aggressive tackle sir and Kai says it's true I saw it that way too there was no need and soon the medics are waved on to the pitch and billy yelled out with the pain and I heard the medics say right billy were going to take you off and get you comfortable and then on your way to hospital to get x rays done and billy says sorry captain and I jumped at the mention of my title as it still didn't feel real and I say it's absolutely fine billy don't worry I'll check up with you later yeah and billy nods and the player is red carded and he leaves the pitch angrily and I said thank you to the ref and the game continues and we're still in the lead and another Southampton player tackles kai this time and kai also goes down and the player received a yellow i jog up to him kai you good and kai bounced up and said it's sore but I can play it off bro and I say alright if you have problems signal and we'll get you subbed Kai nods and says alright skipper and I smile and I gained control of the ball and although I went to pass to my closest team mate the ball fell into the net and this gave us a 2-0 lead and then kai got the ball and his shot went in aswell we were responding to all the challenges Southampton were giving us and we were responding fast and Kai passed me the ball and I sent my shot in and this put us at 3-0 and I celebrated by running to the camera and holding my badge and yelling come on Chelsea woooo and again everyone hugged me and then the ref blows the whistle for half time and we all walked in to the dressing room and Frank says despite Southampton playing a dirty game you lads are playing brilliantly but what I have noticed is that a few of you aren't listening to mase so remember i make the formations but mase has full control over the pitch trust his judgment and your abilities yeah but I'm really happy with all of your efforts today so far and we all have a energy bar and a refuelling drink and we have our legs massaged and checked and then Frank came over said mase your playing beautifully but just remember your breathing yeah mate your doing amazing and I smile and Frank says a more convincing smile please and I let out a deep breath and smiled again and Frank said ah that's better I say you heard about then I hear a very familiar voice saying err I'm franks pa I have every authority to be here thank you so please move and the security stands aside after muttering a sorry miss and lynds says mrs and flashes her left hand and the security guard looks down avoiding eye contact with lynds right then lamps Billy's alright it's a small fracture of his leg and ankle he'll need a bit of time off but no surgery and a simple boot is the treatment plan and frank says ah brilliant thanks lynds I hear her reply with a sweet your welcome and then She runs up to me and jumps into my waiting arms hello baby straight away we gain possession of the ball and we scored again we were on track for our best game of the season and soon enough Kai scored and I said nice one bro and then we were fouled and given a penalty and I took it and in it flew and I was so happy and I heard Frank yell you bloody beauty and then we gain the ball back and A teammate passed to me and I shoot and that shot also heads in the top corner and this takes us up to 6-0 and I hear a familiar voice yell and that's how to finish the match in style and the ref blows the full time whistle and we all celebrated and I was embraced by everyone Kai said incredible game captain and I say you guys were amazing thanks for making me look good and Kai said no mason you made us look good welcome back bro that's how you make a captaincy debut proud to serve under you and Kai and I hug them both and we walk a lap of the pitch and the Southampton captain said I'm so sorry my teammates forgot how to behave today from one captain to another your a brilliant captain and a fantastic player even if you're a pommpy boy your alright so there's a spot on my squad if you were ever interested and I say you played well and I appreciate you taking the blame for your teammates but I appreciate the offer but I'd never stab chels or Portsmouth in the back and he laughed and said loyalty is the best thing to have sometimes but never be kiss and she says see you soon gorgeous and I grab my toiletries bag and head into the shower and I leave my hair wet so it can dry naturally how lynds likes it and then I change and I collect my man of the match award and do a quick post match interview and then I head back to the coach and then we make our way back to the bridge and Frank says seriously lads you were fantastic today if we can keep that up and like I say trust and listen to mase more we are going to be tough to beat really nice work today and like I said it's an afternoon/early evening light gym and recovery tomorrow so make sure you get some much deserved sleep and make the most of it and we all say yes boss and then we arrived back at the bridge and we all got off the coach and headed back into the bridge and got washed it out and made my drinks up and then I headed upstairs and I saw lynd's laying in bed under the duvet and I said I instantly took my shorts off and my shirt and joined her and resumed my
