Fog Of War

(3rd PERSON POV)

When Bellamy, Clarke, Octavia, Finn, Murphy, and August returned to camp, Finn and Murphy were taken into questioning. Clarke took to drawing the inside of Mount Weather, while Bellamy and August barely left each other's sides. Two days later, Clarke, Bellamy, and August were going over Clarke's drawing while having some drinks.
"Okay, tell us again," August says as they look at the map.
"It's a labyrinth. We got to the dam through this tunnel. It's all connected to the mine system. That's our way in," Clarke explains as she points it out.
"Sure, if we can get past the Reapers and the Mountain Men," August states.
"I swear to God, if your mom doesn't sanction a mission soon, I'm going by myself," Bellamy says.
"You won't be by yourself," August says as she rubs his shoulder in comfort. Clarke nods her before she freezes. Bellamy and August notice that she is looking behind them and turn to look. They find Finn and Murphy leaving the dropship. August turns back around before clenching her hands into fists. She was pissed at Finn, to say the least. He could have killed Nyko, who is a friend of Lincoln's and hers.
"Guess the inquisition's over. How's Finn doing, anyway?" Bellamy says as he turns back around.
"I haven't talked to him since we got back. I don't know what to say. He just kept shooting," Clarke answers.
"We're at war, Clarke. We've all done things," Bellamy says before looking at August, only to find her glaring at the table with her fists clenched.
"Hey," Finn says as he walks to stand beside Bellamy. August gets up and walks away. Finn has a slightly hurt look on his face before he masks it and stares at Clarke.
"Hey," Bellamy responds but notices the tension. "Next round's on me." Bellamy grabs the cups before walking over to August. Bellamy gives her a small smile when he stands next to her. "You okay?"
"I just can't help but get mad every time I look at him. He killed so many innocent grounders. He could have killed Nyko," August answers. Bellamy gives her a confused look when she points out the specific grounder. "Nyko is one of the grounders that helped with keeping me alive for the year I was down here on my own. He's a friend." Bellamy nods in understanding even though he doesn't like the fact that she is friends with grounders. Bellamy then pulls her into a hug. As August pulls away she sees Raven walking over to Clarke. "I'll be back." August then walks over to Raven and Clarke.
"Mount Weather's jamming us," Raven states as August walks up.
"Show us," August says. The three then go inside the station.
"I tweaked the resonator and got this. It's on every frequency. Long-range communication is totally screwed," Raven explains as she plays the noise on the resonator.
"That's why the range in our walkies sucks," August concludes.
"It's the same signal Monty heard on the black box of the Exodus ship," Raven says.
"Mount Weather crashed the Exodus ship. Can you get around the signal?" Clarke asks.
"Around it? No," Raven answers before sharing a smirk with August. "But if either of us can get to the tower that broadcasts it, we can make it go boom." Raven points between herself and August.
"No one is going anywhere," Abby says as she and Byrne walk into the room.
"Mom, listen to me..." Clarke starts as she walks over to Abby.
"What do I have to do to get through to you? You and your friends are not soldiers, and continuing to act like you are, puts lives at risk," Abby asks.
"You don't understand. Raven found something. Mount Weather is jamming our communications," Clarke explains.
"It's true. There could be other Ark stations on the ground," Raven further explains.
"And more guards," August adds.
"You said we don't have enough people to fight a two-front war. Mom, we're already fighting one," Clarke explains.
"The Grounder retaliation for the massacre could happen at any time, and when it does, we need every available man to defend this camp," Byrne explains to Abby.
"So let us go," Clarke says at the same time August says "We'll go."
"You're not gonna stop, are you?" Abby asks Clarke.
"Not until my friends are safe," Clarke answers.
"Okay. But I'm coming with you," Abby says as she caves.
"Ma'am, I just said..." Byrne tries.
"It's been quiet for two days. Maybe Kane is making headway with the Grounders' commander," Abby says.
"Or maybe he's dead, and they're massing against us as we speak," Byrne says as she sends an apologetic glance at August. August knew her father was probably dead because of how he was.
"Maybe, which is why we need more guards," Abby says.
"Then it's settled," August says, tired of the arguing.
"We're going back to Mount Weather," Clarke states. Abby nods before her and Byrne leave the room.
"While we are there, we need to find a way into Mount Weather," August says to Clarke, who nods in agreement. "I know the terrain, I can do it. It'll be easier for me to sneak away from the group anyways."
"We'll keep my mom and the guards she brings distracted," Clarke agrees as she points at herself and Raven. "But you'll take Bellamy and Octavia with you." August nods before heading to tell Bellamy and Octavia the plan. The next morning Abby, Clarke, Finn, Octavia, Raven, a few guards, Bellamy and August set out for Mount Weather. August took to following through the trees that way it will be less suspicious when she and the Blake's disappear.
"I can't believe they let Finn come," Octavia tells Bellamy.
"He's the best tracker we've got," Bellamy says even though he knew that August was better.
"That's offensive," August says as she hops out of a tree while landing with her hands on Bellamy's shoulders. Bellamy rolls his eyes with a small smile.
"Don't forget to look up," Bellamy orders.
"The Grounders use the trees," August explains. "Just don't shoot me though." Bellamy smiles at her before she climbs back up a tree.
"That's how we lost John Mbege," Bellamy adds before him and Octavia fall to the back of the group. August, Bellamy, and Octavia then sneak off. August jumps out of the tree and starts heading towards Mount Weather with Bellamy and Octavia following her.
"According to Clarke, before the bombs, there were buildings everywhere here. I'm guessing some of them had access to the bunker. So we're looking for ruins, anything that's manmade, okay?" Bellamy explains.
"Hey! Blake! Kane! Let's go, right now," Scott, a guard, orders when he and two other guys come up behind them.
"In case you've forgotten, we're not under your command," August says as she turns to face the guards.
"Don't make us do this the hard way," Scott says.
"Come on, Scott, 47 of our people are prisoners in this mountain," Bellamy explains.
"And that's why we're out here," Scott states.
"Wrong," August says with an eye roll.
"You're out here to find other stations of the Ark. We're out here to find our friends," Bellamy further explains.
"Bell. A," Octavia says as she looks at the ground as a ton of bugs run by.
"What are they doing?" Scott asks as they all look at the bugs.
"Running," Bellamy answers as August starts looking around.
"Acid fog!" August yells as she sees the yellow fog.
"We need cover! Now! Deploy the tents! Let's go!" Bellamy orders.
"Yeah, I got it. Let's get all the canvas out now," One of the guards say. Octavia and August share a look before they follow the bugs.
"O! O! Aug! Get back here!" Bellamy orders as he sees them walking off.
"Bell! There's something in here. Maybe it's the ruins," Octavia says as she and August start to move moss out of the way.
"Hey! Hey! Over here! Let's go! Come on! Come on!" Bellamy orders the guards who are still putting up the tents.
"I found it!" Octavia says as she finds a handle.
"Come on, pull," Bellamy orders before Scott helps him.
"Hurry up!" August yells to the guards who are still putting up the tents. Bellamy and Scott are able to get the door open. Bellamy ushers Octavia and August inside.
"Hey! Quick! Get inside! Come on, move! Let's go!" Bellamy orders the other two guards as Scott runs inside. One of the guards makes it before the other is swallowed by the fog. Scott tries to go back outside to get to his man. "Move! It's too late!" Bellamy quickly closes the door after shoving Scott back.
"Let's go," August says wanting to get away from the door in case the fog seeps in.
"Where are we?" Scott asks as they take out flashlights and start to look around.
"Looks like a garage," Bellamy answers as they see a lot of cars.
"More like a tomb," Octavia states.
"Look, I'm sorry about your man, but we need to find an access door to Mount Weather," Bellamy explains before he, Octavia and August go to walk away.
"Hey, not so fast," Scott says as he stops Bellamy.
"Sir, that fog could keep us pinned down for another..." Bellamy goes to explain but Scott pulls out a handgun.
"We'll split up. Be back here in 15. Be safe," Scott explains as he hands the handgun to Bellamy.
"Let's go," August says as she, Bellamy, and Octavia split from Scott and his man. After a while August hears music playing. August puts her hand out stopping Octavia and Bellamy before putting a finger to her mouth to signal for them to be quiet. They then hear a scream before going to investigate.
"Scott? Are you there?" Bellamy asks as they look around. They find a guard's gun with a flashlight attached to it. Bellamy picks up the gun.
"Bell, what's that?" Octavia whispers as she hears a noise. Bellamy uses the flashlight on the gun and shows two figures over a body.
"Reapers," August answers as the reapers start running at them but Bellamy shoots them down. They can now see the guard's body.
"O," Bellamy says getting her attention.
"What?" Octavia asks as Bellamy pulls the handgun from his waistband.
"Take this," Bellamy says as he hands her the handgun, knowing that August wouldn't take it. They then find Scott's body with a reaper eating his guts. Bellamy cocks his gun before aiming at the Reaper.
"Don't. It's Lincoln," Octavia says as Lincoln starts to stand up. "Lincoln. Lincoln, it's me. It's Octavia." Octavia walks closer to Lincoln who starts walking towards her.
"Octavia!" Bellamy calls out as Lincoln throws Octavia into a car. Lincoln keeps going for Bellamy but Bellamy doesn't want to shoot him. There's a gunshot and Octavia had shot Lincoln in the leg. August then hits Lincoln across the head with the butt of her sword, knocking him out. "Get up. Get up. We need to get somewhere safe." Bellamy helps Octavia up before they run after August. August opens the back door of a car while making sure that Bellamy and Octavia get in before getting in herself and closing the door. Bellamy has a protective arm wrapped around Octavia as she tries not to freak out.
"He's a Reaper? How is it even possible? He just looked right through me," Octavia questions in a whisper.
"Shh," August says as she hears someone coming closer.
"How?" Octavia still questions. Lincoln then appears and stares through the window looking right at them. "Did he see us?" Lincoln looks away before looking back at the window.
"I don't know," Bellamy answers in a whisper. Lincoln then rubs his hand across the window before walking away. Octavia is trying not to panic.
"Shh. Just listen to me. We'll get him back. I promise," Bellamy explains as he looks at both girls, knowing how much Lincoln means to each of them. After coming up with a plan to get Lincoln they get out of the car. "You sure you're ready for this?" Octavia nods her head. "Okay. Draw him in. I'll do the rest." August nods before Bellamy hides in the corner by a car. Octavia and August then walk out to find Lincoln.
"Lincoln!" August calls out.
"Lincoln! Can you hear me?" Octavia calls out. Lincoln then comes from around a corner and towards the girls. Octavia and August get backed up into a wall with Lincoln in front of them. "I'm sorry."
"Hey!" Bellamy calls out as he comes up behind Lincoln with a shock baton. Bellamy shocks Lincoln's neck until he passes out.
"Now what?" Octavia asks as she stares at Lincoln.
"Now we take him home," August answers as she looks down at Lincoln.
