Nevermore

(CLARKE POV)

Jasper had just got off the radio with the others. I told him not to tell them about August because she isn't looking so good and probably isn't going to make it much longer.
"Jasper, please talk to me," I say wanting to get my mind off of Lexa and August.
"I saved your life. It's more than you deserve," Jasper says.
"My mother let them shoot at me," I say.
"I can see the appeal," Jasper says. "Stop talking and look for the cave. Sinclair said it would be around here somewhere." I just go into the back of the rover and sit beside August.

(BELLAMY POV)

We were just radioed by Jasper, saying something crazy.
"I don't understand it, either. It's something about those chips," Monty says.
"We'll know soon enough. Be ready," Sinclair says. I see Octavia get up and start packing her bag.
"O, wait," I say as I walk over to her. "You can't just leave."
"Watch me," She says.
"You heard what Jasper said on the radio. Arkadia is not safe," I argue.
"What Jasper said sounds insane. Pike's gone. I can handle myself. Grounders burn their dead," Octavia says.
"I know that, and then what? Where are you gonna go?" I ask her.

"You don't get to ask me that," Octavia sneers at me.
"What more do I have to do to prove that I am on your side?" I ask her.

"Bring August back," Octavia answers as tears come to her eyes. "Bring Lincoln back." Octavia then goes to walk away before turning back around. "Turning Pike in does not make you one of the good guys, Bellamy. You did that to save me and get revenge for August, not because what you thought Pike was doing to the Grounders was wrong."
"The Grounders were starving us out," I tell her.
"Because you massacred an army that was sent to protect us," She argues.
"That army could've attacked us at any time, and you know it," I argue.
"But they didn't attack. You did that. You were hurting, and you lashed out because that's what you do. There are consequences, Bell. People get hurt. People die, your people. Monroe's dead. Lincoln is dead. August is dead," Octavia then walks outside and I follow her.
"They're here," Miller says as the rover can be heard. I see a figure walking towards us and at a closer look, I see that it is Clarke.

"I need your help! We have to get her inside before she wakes up," Jasper says as he runs over while carrying Raven.
"Were you followed?" I ask him.

"Maybe. I... I don't know," Jasper answers.
"Give her here," I say as I grab Raven from him.
"Get to the ridge. Radio if you spot anyone following. Harper, we'll stay here on watch," Miller orders. I head into the cave with Raven.

"Octavia, come on. I need you," I hear Clarke tell Octavia before I completely disappear into the cave. I sit Raven down.

"What the hell happened to her?" Sinclair asks.

"I told you on the radio. Raven is not Raven anymore. None of them are. Jaha has been chipping everyone," Jasper answers.
"Jasper's right. I've seen it with my own eyes," Clarke says as she walks into the cave.
"I don't need your help, all right?" Jasper yells at her.

"Just take it easy," I tell him.

"Clear some space," Clarke says and I look around for Octavia. Sinclair helps Clarke clear space, then I see Octavia walking in but she is carrying somebody. "Miller help her." Miller goes and grabs whoever it is. He then lays them down by where Clarke is. I walk over and feel all the air leave my body. It's August. She has a bandage on her head plus more.

"Is she alive?" I whisper out.

"Barely," Clarke tells me. "She's fighting though. She's a survivor."

"Explain," Sinclair tells Jasper.
"Jaha is using the chips to control everyone. You swallow it, and it changes you. You forget who you are, and then you see this thing A.L.I.E., only she's not really there. She made Raven slit her own wrists. She was trying to get it out of her head. I was trying to help her, but..." Jasper explains.
